They should ban him. Driving again and without a seat belt. Idiot.

I agree but I think they are awaiting the results of the 'investigation.' It's poor optics for the senior royals to be driving around (without seatbelts) as if nothing has happened. They need Meghan's, er the junior royals' new PR team. (I posted Meghan's PR lunch in the closed thread.)

The seat belt thing, despite being law except under certain circumstances is due to the close protection - itís about getting out of a vehicle quickly. Remember how Diana wasnít wearing a seat belt in her crash in Paris? Nothing was said about it at the time (that I remember) but that is the reason behind that.

Plus hecan get get a letter from his dr saying that he has a medical exemption (I didnít realise that being an arrogant tossed was a medical complaint but....)

The Daily Fail & other tabloids put the protection officers at risk by repeatedly publishing their photos so I am unsurprised that they havenít thought of why heís not wearing a seatbelt.

I remember a lot being said about Diana not wearing a seatbelt. It seems idiotic for them not to wear them.

    Completely.
The airbag technology has come a long way & cars are much safer; however the close protection thing is about getting out of a vehicle at speed. That being said, I think that DoE is just an arrogant twat since he runs off without his team & ignores their advice/requests.

Yes, I don't think he was being that closely protected since passers-by seem to have got to him first.

Iím all for elderly people to be active but I do think he should stop driving. There was an over 60 driving and they slept behind the wheel almost injured themselves and others.

I guess he thinks he is above the law seeing as he received a new car and started driving the next day.

You saw the bit where I said he runs off without his close protection team right?
They were in the vehicle behind on the day of the crash.

Also just because they are not in the vehicle doesn’t mean that he’s not been successfully drilled in the principles for a thousand years since he was young. I still think that his doctor’s note will read “terminal arrogance”.

The Duke of Edinburgh's crash 'wouldn't have happened' had there been a royal protection officer in his Land Rover at the time, according to Princess Diana's former bodyguard.
Ken Wharfe also said the royal family had all been told to wear seatbelts as the 97-year-old Duke faced renewed criticism after being spotted driving without one 48 hours after the crash on Thursday.
He told Good Morning Britain: 'When the seat belt legislation came in every member of the royal family was told, "It's the law, you have to wear a seat belt".'

So they are told to wear them

I realize it's a touchy situation with a 97-yr-old royal who's probably pissy at being told what to do--on top of being senile and not well--but this is just unacceptable and outrageous. He's a menace to public safety.
