Apparently, all these directors care about is whether an actress is "hot" when casting these films. It is the only explaination for the likes of Scarlett, Jessica Alba, Eva Mendes, Malin Akerman and other no talents having successful careers.

Actually, that's the number one consideration for people who cast movies. You can be as talented as a thousand Robert DeNiro's, but if you don't look hot or sexy (or what hollywood considers sexy, namely those able to pose in FHM/Maxim), you have no chance for leading lady roles. Appearance is everything. You can teach acting but you can't teach what you were born with physically. Small wonder why producers don't go the rounds of drama majors to cast their movies, their first place to look for fresh new talent is in the covers of FHM and their like. Sick but true.
