I see Greys stopped by to give her love.

I don't see why it's that hard for Sandra Bullock to raise two little kids, not matter what her age. She can afford young nannies, a housekeeper and maid, a professional cook, a personal assistant, and driver/bodyguards. She works every other year or so rather than 50 weeks a year. It's MUCH harder for the average mom to work a full time job, raise kids, sustain a long-term relationship, clean the house, cook the meals, drive the kids to activities and pay the bills. Bullock has to deal with fans and paparazzi, which the average person does not, but otherwise she can afford a LOT of help. She's able to spend more time with Louis than the average working mother does with her kids. I'm not knocking her -- I think she's probably a great mom -- but she does have it easier than most working moms.

Not like we haven't had this debate before but ... it's about the kid not the Mom. It's a given a Hollywood star has any help she wants. It's not great for a kid to have such an age gap nor for the grandkids etc. Yes, Hollywood stars are immortal and never look their age of course but I bet their kids tell a different story.

All the heartwarming details? It says she adopted a baby girl. That's about it. Not much of a story.

We aren't going to start this she's-too-old-to-adopt/have a child/have fresh eggs horseshit AGAIN, are we?

I'm really hoping we can also have a discussion about whether people who don't want children are selfish

My Aunt had her first child at 19 and her second (a surprise pregnancy) at 48. She and my uncle always intended to be one and done (hence the 29 year age gap) and wasn't thrilled that she was going to be an 'older' mother, but actually finds parenting a young child easier and more enjoyable as an older mother than she did as a younger one.

IMO, there's nothing wrong with having a child in your late 40's/early 50's. You can drop dead at any age.

That I can get behind, since I never had kids and AM selfish.

It is far more selfish to have children than to not have them.

I believe she adopted a baby. maybe she won't keep this sequestered like I think Louis was for the first
    few months.

May she use her head and not have that new guy around too much for baby bonding. I get a very bad feeling about him. I'm telling you he's slimy and my gut says he's not playing house.

Good for her. She obviously loves Louis and seems to be a caring and devoted mom.

I'm 45 with an almost 5 year old. Honestly, I don't see me doing things much differently than the mom's that are half my age.
