While I love every character he's ever played even in shitty movies like A Beautiful Mind, I like Russell personally too. Sure, he's had his anger issues but he owns it and doesn't try to make excuses. He's calmed down considerably since marriage and kids, and it's clear his family is his top priority. He's openly enamored of all of them. He's no Hollywood phony, and he keeps his acting alive and well by not becoming entombed in the Hollywood bubble. Through his ownership of the Rabbitoh's, his farm, and his extended family and large circle of friends, Rusty stays grounded in the real world. He reads extensively, he loves animals and nature, music and poetry, and he tries to keep fit while admitting it's an uphill battle. He recently quit smoking for his family. He chooses interesting characters to play, and is unanimously hailed as challenging but generous on set, and is known to conduct himself with a sterling work ethic.

I always assumed he had an anger management problem, which wasn't impossible to fix. I don't follow him that closely, but I have actually heard nice things about him regarding film sets, how he treats fans and people he meets out in public. I think he's a very magnetizing actor, when he's on the big screen he's just got something indefinable. I loved him in LA Confidential, The Insider, A Beautiful Mind, Master and Commander, Body of Lies, etc.

    What's the dolphin thing about?

He reminds me of Rob Reiner, the guy who played Meathead on All in the Family.
