God , I hope that isn't true.Didn't Roseanne claim to remember being molested when she was around 2?
But if it is ....... she is one rememberin' bitch!
Hollidays, booze, fading career... a bad combination for a celebrity.
I also quit watching the show. It wasn't any good at all by then, with the exception of the theme song, which I loved. Deja View (here in Canada) still airs the show, and for some reason, all they seem to play are the later episodes. Very disappointing because the show was at its best in the early days. I don't know why they seldom show the first seasons.
I would love if another sitcom came out, that was like the great years of Roseanne. I noticed that a lot of sitcoms have gone for the really weird type of sense of humor, where everything is really over the top. All of the characters have the same kind of sense of humor while being dumb as stick.
I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me. Hunter S Thompson

To me, she can do almost no wrong. Even if she's responsible for Roseanne losing it's shine and becoming typical sit com crap, I will love her and that show forever. That being said, I never thought this show would get off the ground.
She looks damn good here....
Like an Aunt Bea makeover.
Her head looks too big for her body in that photo.![]()
Yeah, Rosanne really fell off after Rosanne Barr and Tom Arnold (who was an EP on the show for awhile) managed to piss off and fire damn near every good writer in Hollywood back in the day. Getting hired, writing and getting fired from the show was a rite of passage for many a writer during the height of the show's fame back in the 1990's.
I think Rosanne hit its stride starting around season 3, peaked around 4 and 5 (Dan losing the bike shop, Becky running off and getting married, etc) and began to lose steam sometime midway through season 6, around the time Tom Arnold and Roseanne were going through their divorce. The ratings declined, so advertisers weren't willing to pay the rates that they were paying at the peak of the show's popularity, and ABC wasn't getting a return on their investment, but were still contractually obligated to pay Barr's salary, plus John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf (who were earning somewhere between $400-500K/episode at its peak). So the show had to take who they could afford after awhile. I like to pretend the final season didn't happen, but I'll give Roseanne credit for trying to clean up her mess by saying it was all a dream. I read somewhere that she didn't want to have a reunion for the show, so killing off Dan Connor and claiming that she made it all up was a final "fuck you" to ABC. Not the smartest decision (to me), but pure Roseanne Barr nonetheless.
Keep in mind that some of those writers were Joss Whedon and Judd Apatow, who went on to have very successful careers in their own right and probably have the power and pull to keep Barr blackballed for a very long time. It doesn't help that Roseanne goes off like this either.
Honestly, I don't think network television is a good place for the type of show Rosanne Barr wants. She'd be better off on cable, Netflix, or Amazon nowadays. Different day, different time.
I watched the roast of Roseanne a few weeks ago and she really looked amazing!
