ME TOO!! ALWAYS. Even at Rose Law Firm she was a defender of the rights of women and children. People have tried to drag the Clinton name through the mud for years and all they can come up with is a cigar up a pussy, some cum on a dress, a blow job, and maybe some girl on girl action. Oh, and Whitewater, which was a big to do about nothing.
I don't disagree with anything Rosie is saying. I don't dislike Obama; I think he is charismatic and a great speaker. I am just not hearing any concrete plans and I don't feel comfortable with his minimal track record.

Wow, Roseanne's choices involve Tom Arnold and that whole lottery-it-was-all-a-dream last season of her show, and we're supposed to be taking advice from her? Not that I'm an Oprah fan.

You seem to be suffering from the dillusion that Hillary was knitting socks or kissing babies during her husbands presidency. She had an agenda of her own, perhaps you should research it.
Who better to know the ins and outs of presidency than someone who's witnessed it first hand?
If you don't like her party's platform, don't vote for her, but don't vote against her without knowing the reality of WHY.

This may be a very stupid question - I don't mean to insult anyone either - but does celeb-endorsement really make a difference in the elections in the US? It's so far away from how politics work here that I simply can't understand it..

Roseanne has a blog!
Er, I didn't really absorb anything else. I like Obama and pretend Oprah doesn't exist. I already have a hard enough time with her book list. She has a tendency to pick things I just read. I'm always happy when she picks something shitty. I think I read most of the ones this year, just because I had already read them by the time she picked them.

Unfortunately in a nation as big as the US, there's always
those who "follow their leader"........

I don't think that's a US "thing" or even a big country thing - I guess it's mostly the choise of "leaders" that scare me. I have very little repsect for people who doesn't take their right to vote seriously - and I can't say it's taken seriously if you vote for someone simply because Oprah (or another celeb) says you should

I think it depends on the celebrity. I can't see Will Smith, Usher, Scarlett Johanson, Ben Affleck, George Clooney, or Brad Pitt getting Obama many votes, but I think Oprah is the exception that may have an influence. I doubt she's going to get him enough votes to make a major difference outside of the primaries, if even then. If I had to take a guess, I'd say that many of the voters who I'd think would be most likely to see Oprah as an important enough figure to vote the way she wanted them to would be Hilary supporters and would likely be voting for a Democrat either way in the major election (just guessing based on demographics).

Of course, Hillary could do a better job than Bush. I didn't say, or imply, that Hillary wasn't qualified to be president. My original point was to contradict Roseanne's statement that she had 35 years of political experience, which she doesn't.
And what difference does it make if Oprah backs Obama? I mean, people act as if it's completely out of the realm of possibility that she should endorse the senator from her home state of Illinois rather than the senator from N.Y.

A celebrity endorsement only makes a difference to the braindead who can't think for themselves and shouldn't be voting to begin with.

I completely agree with everything you said! When I watched the debates Obama seems to have no ideas. He just kind of skates around the questions. I have no idea what he stands for. Oprah pisses me off! The idiots who would follow someone she endorses probably voted GB in office twice! I LOVE Hilary!
