Come to think of it me neither. I'm hoping Valkyrie will be his coup de grace and put an end to a rather substandard acting career. His little youtube videos where he's being his maniacal self are far more interesting and funny. The birthday party is one of my favorites. And I really don't see her pulling off any Meryl Streep or Halle Berry performances anytime well ever.
as privileged as a whore...victims in demand for public show, swept out through the cracks beneath the door, holier than thou, how?
i think he overacts in everything he's done. I've never liked him as an actor or any of his films that much. And he's always come across as a nutjob to me - so all this weirdo behavour in the last 2 years comes as no surprise.
Ugh, Tom Cruise couldn't act his way out of a paper bag. Every movie of him is just "Tom Cruise playing Tom Cruise in a period piece costume" or "Tom Cruise running away from his gay thoughts in another action movie".
He did turn in some good performances back in the day but he's become a charicature of himself to the point that he just plays TOM CRUISE in whatever movie he's in.. it's the Jack Nicholson curse, but he did it to himself.
Last Samurai? Pedestrian. Minority Report? Pedestrian. Vanilla Sky? Bleh...
I am from the American CIA and I have a radio in my head. I am going to kill you.
I can honestly say I've never liked him much as an actor, or understood his appeal...even as far back as his Top Gun glory days. I usually avoid his movies and the only ones I've liked are pretty much in spite of him, and for the other actors...Jerry Maguire, Rain Man and Magnolia come to mind. His performances always come across as smarmy to me. I agree he's just a caricature these days.
I did sometimes like TinyTom films, many years ago, although I've never thought much of him in particular and figured it was all down to a good script and good direction. As far as him ever being the epitome of cool? You cannot be serious.

What are the chances though that with the whole Tom Cruise pissing off Spielberg scenario that with his connections that eventually Scientologists start getting blacklisted from all major studio films? Then pretty much Hollywood as a whole.
Would that not nip Katie's ambitions clearly in the bud? Add to the mix she's not that great of an actress either.
When your daughter plays "House," she pretends to be an annoying doctor with a pill-addiction and a limp.
The source added: "Tom has offered to make calls to ensure she gets a first refusal on the hot scripts, but Katie insists she wants to achieve success without his help."
Well, my dear, marrying Tommygirl was your career suicide.
Too bad you actually need talent to win an Oscar...
...oh, wait.
I saw a film today, oh boy.
The Oscars in ten years will be called the "Scientology Movie Excellent Awards" and will only star... see, this is how little Scientology interests me... I can't even finish what I started.
Katie is as mediocre as Tom, she'll never be a great actress unless she gets some serious lessons.
I remember when I was younger Tom's name was up there with Brad Pitt as a sex symbol, now he's just a joke. So terribly sad what Scientology does to a girl.
I smile because I have no idea what's going on
The only movies he was in that I ever liked were Jerry Maguire and Magnolia... the rest I don't like... mainly cause I don't like him.
I don't think his acting is so amazing... he's had the big-budget super studios backing his movies so that they do well but certainly his acting never collected him much in the way of gold statues (except for his Oscar noms for - coincidently - Jerry Maguire and Magnolia!
vaya con dios
The only entertaining movies Tom ever made were the mini ones posted all over youtube.![]()
Katie will never be Reese. Reese was already famous when she made Legally Blonde, but that movie really shot her into the multi-million-per-movie bracket.
Katie would have sucked at a role like that. She's just not that great an actress, and as ambivalent as I am about Reese as a person, I love her in just about everything she does onscreen.
