Robin Thicke's legal team is speaking out.

The crooner's recent deposition for his ongoing lawsuit with Marvin Gaye's kids—who allege that his hit "Blurred Lines" was a rip-off of their father's famous "Got to Give It Up"—revealed that he was "high and drunk" during every single interview he did last year, adding, "I had a drug and alcohol problem for the year and I didn't do a sober interview. So I don't recall many things that I said."

But his camp wants to make sure nothing is misconstrued.

In a statement on behalf of the singer, attorney Howard King tells E! News, "Robin's moment of personal vulnerability is being exploited in the hope of diverting attention from the obvious weakness of their legal claim."

Thicke's deposition continued, "I've been sober for the last two months…When your wife [Paula Patton] leaves you, it gives you a good reason to be sober," he explained under oath. "I've actually only been sober off the pills, off of Vicodin. I still drink."

He also admitted that he didn't come up with the song whatsoever and has limited memory of recording it, crediting Pharrell Williams for the chart-topping hit.

"So I kind of started convincing myself that I was a little more part of it than I was and I—because I didn't want him—I wanted some credit for this big hit. But the reality is that Pharrell [Williams] had the beat and he wrote almost every part of the song."

It's a hit? Gimmie credit! I'm the man behind this huge hit!

Getting sued? Nothing to do with me man, I was too busy fingering some chick's ring to write anything.

I thought Paula and Robin would be back together by now. I guess it wasn't a publicity stunt.

But if he received money as song writer, surely it doesn't matter if he actually wrote it. He got money from an allegeded crime, so now he should repay it.

after the embarrassment his album caused him, if it was a publicity stunt she was probably too embarrassed to 'take him back'. i know i'd have ran far far away after watching the videos and reading the crap people have said about him. and especially now when he's selling pharrel down the river (yet apparently claimed to be behind the song last summer). fucking FOOL/TOOL windlowlicker pervert creeper gross sweaty upper lipped beetlejuice superstalker.

sorry there were so many insult option names i just used them all.

anyone remember this gem of a deal?

When your wife [Paula Patton] leaves you, it gives you a good reason to be sober,"
Because when your wife and son still live with you there's no reason to be sober. Fuck knuckle.

Musically the melody to each of the songs are nearly identical. A musciologist for the Gaye family has said there are 8 substantially similar elements between the two songs.

There's also a second song the family is suing over. You can hear it hear: Robin Thicke Sues Marvin Gaye's Family over "Blurred Lines" Copyright Okayplayer

No one will work with Robin after these comments. His career went downhill quick.
