Wait! Hold on a minute! They paid $220 for a sweater with holes in it? A sweater that looks like my dog got ahold of it for about an hour? WTF???

I thought that was pushing it a bit too. Two pounds a week x 12 weeks is 24 lbs, which is still a huge loss, but it means she'd have to start dieting and working out immediately after giving birth and that seems a bit much. Looks like they would spot her at least the first month to get her legs under her and then be reasonable enough to expect only maybe 16 lbs in 2 months.

^ Ah, yeah, I get your point. I was thinking of it from the perspective of having to lose a total of 30 lbs after the birth not taking the baby and assorted goodies from that into account. If they're counting 30 lbs from before she gave birth, yes, I suppose it would be very possible. Looking at pics of her in recent weeks, it's hard for me to gauge how much weight she'd be planning to lose. I'd guestimate maybe 45 - 50 lbs?

A source tells Us Weekly the new mom learned at her first Weight Watchers weigh-in -- a few weeks after the May 1 birth of daughter Maxwell -- she had gained 70 pounds. Luckily, the spokesperson, 32, has $4 million worth of motivation to shed them.
if this is correct they aren't counting the baby. her first weigh in was after she gave birth.
All of God's children are not beautiful. Most of God's children are, in fact, barely presentable.
So, she was 70 lbs over her goal weight at her first weigh in after the baby if I'm reading that right, I guess? That would mean she was pushing a total weight gain of 90 lbs by the time she gave birth. Yowza.
Anyway, if they did the first weigh in after the birth and expected her to lose 30 lbs in 3 months, that seems unhealthy, especially since she probably couldn't do much working out for at least a month.

Damn, 70lbs after the baby?! I suppose it's possible she gained about 90lbs, maybe they're going by her lowest weight, because I think she had started to put on weight even before she got pregnant.
get her fat ass on a bike and go find some hills.
another year i claim of total indifference.
^^ This. She strikes me as slow in every possible way. And over indulgent.
by trying to lose 2lbs a week.
No it's not. WW like you to lose 2lbs a week and it's 17 weeks from 1st May to end of August. Plus the quote was "Her contract requires a 20- to 30-pound loss by the end of August or no payday, says a source. But it won't be easy."
So she could just lose 20lbs to be on target.
Srly, the first 2 weeks with WW I lost 7 lbs, it's not hard you just have to be organised and it's not like she can't hire someone to be organised for her - housekeeper to do the grocery shopping and a cook... It's when there is crap in the house & you let your guard down that trouble starts.
If she really set her mind to it, she could make quite a dent(but not 30lbs) in a month. Live off of brown rice, veggies, chicken and fish and GET OUT THERE and RUN and BIKE. She doesn't have to work every day, she has the time! But I see her as way to prissy and lazy to do any of that.
I'm on Weight Watchers, and when I'm following the program to the letter, I lose .5 to 1.5 pounds a week. It took me about 3 months to lose 20. For exercise I do a combo of walking, Wii Fit, elliptical trainer, and a Jillian Michaels DVD (a workout so tough that the only way I can get through it is picturing myself punching her, LOL). I exercise about 4 days a week if I'm good.
WW is a good program, but it involves a lot of planning and making mindful choices about what you are eating. It took me a long time on the program to learn to let go of bad habits and embrace good ones. It's not like Jenny Craig where you just eat the food they give you. You have to figure out what to eat on your own and calculate the points. I still have a long way to go on this program, but I feel like it's finally starting to become normal for me. If I had more time to workout (I'm a working mom with 2 kids, but I try to exercise 30 minutes a day several times a week) and the money to hire a trainer and a chef to make healthy meals for me, like Jessica, I'd probably be more successful on the program.
I can tell you that the whole "nursing burns calories!" thing is not true for every woman. If Jessica is breast feeding, she is also probably very hungry all the time. I was hungrier nursing my kids in months 1-3 than I was during the 9 months of pregnancy.
