I didn't read the article, but let me guess, Reese said something along the lines of "I don't want them to be over priviledged gits, so I'll let 'em fight their own battles, take their hard knocks to build character?"
Kids are mean, they're human, some are good, some are bad, most are a mix of both. No matter what Reese says, they WILL be bullied at some point, they can't be everybody's friend.

Are celeb parents trying to relate to us common folk through their children?

That's what Alba said in some interview like a week ago. She wants a "brown", nerdy baby.

    Wow,

To be teased and bullied is something I NEVER want for my children...

I was bullied and harrassed all throughout elementary and middle school and I STILL haven't gotten over it!

Middle school was a nightmare for me...I became severely depressed and had suicidal thoughts by age 12...

Middle school was hell. HELL I SAY!

I swear to god celebrities say the most stupid things...

This woman must be on crack.

I saw the GMA interview, and if you watch it real time, you understand what she means. It wasn't like she was begging for her children to be tortured, in fact, I think she was trying to make the point that if you do get teased or bullied, or don't win 1st place all the time, the world isn't over, it's ok, and you can grow from it.

I understand what she means but she didn't word it right at all. Bullying can make you a stronger person but it can also have the other effect of severe emotional trauma. She doesn't know how her kids would react.

Remember the Adam Sandler movie where he rings up this guy and says he's sorry for bullying him in school? Adam is sincerely apologising and the guy, (Steve Buscemi) says its ok, he'd forgotten all about it, then hangs up, crosses Adam sandler off his "People to Kill" list and leans back and smears lipstick all over his face.
Didnt forget. Hadnt gotten over it.
    Jack I swear.

I agree 120%. I don't think its something a person NEEDS to go through, not at all. And I hate bullies; every last one of them.
