“My accountant, he sent me a letter behind Evi’s back. He said, Your wife is spending so much money—she’s gonna drag you into the poorhouse! They were trying to separate us, divide us, and it really affected me. Like I started looking at Evi sideways, like, This bitch. Yeah, Evi was going into Hermès; she was going into all the stores, Chanel—the whole deal—but now I know if you total up the bills they’re just a little fraction of what I was capable of paying for. I was making enough money for me to comfortably support Evi and her shopping.
“They wanted to separate us,” said Quaid, “because Evi is very intuitive and very smart. She’s the smartest person I know. You can call her crazy, you can call her whatever you want, but she is my lifeline, and if she wasn’t with me, I don’t know where I’d be.”
He stared off into the distance, waiting for her to come back.

WOW. I would like to know what she did to have such a tight hold on him!! Is she THAT good in bed?
He said that it's the excitement of what she does....I can understand that to a point, but my god....He's lost EVERYTHING because of her.
As I tell my ex all the time, love is not always enough! There's got to be respect, compromise, etc....This trick is running the show 24/7.

I feel bad for Randy Quaid.

Randy Quaid sues company that posted bond for his squatting arrest

Actor Randy Quaid has sued a suburban Indianapolis bond company that bailed Quaid and his wife out of jail after they were arrested on squatting charges in California in 2010.

The Indianapolis Star reports the 63-year-old "Independence Day" star sued Carmel, Ind.-based American Surety in Hamilton County Court, saying the company posted two $50,000 bonds for the couple without being asked, obligating them to repay bonds that they hadn't requested.

Randy and Evi Quaid were arrested in September 2010 on suspicion that they were living in the guest house of a Montecito, Calif., home they previously owned. Authorities said at the time the Quaids were suspected of causing more than $5,000 in damage.

A month later, the Quaids were detained by immigration police in Vancouver after a California judge issued a bench warrant for their arrest. They missed a hearing scheduled for Oct. 18, 2010, but the Quaids say they were never notified that a court date had been set.

American Surety posted two $50,000 bonds for the couple, but the Quaids contend in an April 10 Indiana court filing that they never authorized the company to issue the bonds.

"The Quaids did not enter into a written agreement with American or its agent to provide the $50,000 bonds and did not agree to pay any sums to American or its agent in exchange for the bonds," their attorney wrote in court documents.

The couple is seeking unspecified damages for lost wages and emotional distress.

American Surety and their lawyer had no immediate comment Friday.

Randy Quaid, 63, is best-known for supporting roles in films such as "Independence Day" and "National Lampoon's Vacation." He is the older brother of Dennis Quaid.

Surely someone contracted American surety. They are not putting up bonds for people on a whim.

^^ I really hope they got something in writing. Of course, those losers could have declined the bond & remained in jail. I guess it's just easier to sue someone.

Randy Quaid Detained at Border in Vermont Trying to Enter U.S.

American actor Randy Quaid and his wife were taken into custody Friday night while trying to cross into the United States from Canada, Vermont State Police said.

The "Independence Day" actor was detained by troopers at the Highgate Springs port of entry days after Canadian officials said he would be deported.

Quaid is wanted in Santa Barbara, California, to face felony vandalism charges filed in 2010 after he and his wife, Evi, were found squatting in a guesthouse of a home they previously owned.

The pair skipped several court appearances and went to Canada, where Evi Quaid was granted citizenship. Randy Quaid's bid to gain permanent residency was denied.

The 65-year-old actor said in interview with The Associated Press from a detention center in Laval, Quebec, on Wednesday that he would like to resolve his legal issues in California and "move on with my life."

U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents detained the Quaids at the Vermont port of entry at about 8 p.m. Friday after determining they were fugitives from justice and subject to extradition, State Police said. They were taken into custody by troopers, and a judge set bail at $500,000 each. Randy Quaid was being held at the North West State Correctional Center and Evi Quaid at the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility.

Attempts to reach a current attorney for the Quaids were unsuccessful early Saturday.

Randy Quaid's bid for permanent residency in Canada was denied in 2012, and it can take years for deportation to follow. He was arrested in Montreal in May after becoming the subject of a nationwide arrest warrant when he stopped checking in with border authorities. He later apologized and was released, with the requirement to check in every two weeks.

The actor and his Canadian wife fled the U.S. in 2010, saying they were victims of persecution. Quaid said he was being hunted by "Hollywood star-whackers" who killed his friends David Carradine and Heath Ledger.

Randy Quaid is the older brother of actor Dennis Quaid and is best known for his roles in films such as "National Lampoon's Vacation" and "Independence Day."

He told the AP that the couple's behavior, statements and videos they've posted to social media, including a sex tape, are an act and a way of expressing themselves.
