RIP. A truly groundbreaking woman.
I'm old enough to remember Phyllis Diller from Laugh-In and other shows around that time. She seemed like a really fun person and had a self-deprecating sense of humor. A lot of it seemed centered on her plastic surgery.
Relatedly, I'd like to know when that photo in the OP was taken. If she had as much PS as she had joked about, she certainly had it done in a more tasteful and natural way than most other celebs.
RIP. A truly groundbreaking woman.

RIP, Phyllis.

She paved the way for female comedians. RIP, Phyllis!
Always loved her long cigarette she smoked!
Aaaawwww, Phyllis, R.I.P. She was hysterical. Her first movie appearance was in one of my all time favorite movies, "Splendor in the Grass". Her mocking of her PS was such fun, as were her comments on celebrity roasts, when they were still fun and not vulgar, like they are now.

Very sad. She was such a funny, goofy woman.

Very sad to see her go. What a brilliant comedian and very funny woman. She also had a dramatic side starring in "The Swimmer" with Burt Lancaster. She will be missed. RIP Ms. Diller.![]()
