Very sad to hear this...![]()
A friend of mine, her father is currently battling this cancer and is doing remarkably well. He's been having treatment for at least 18 months and is working and having a life......
But, I guess it depends on how far along the cancer is, etc...
I hope that it isn't true, I wouldn't wish cancer on anyone, especially pancreatic cancer. My nana had it and died from it, it was brutal the pain she was in it was unbearable.
This news makes me so sad.
Patrick Swayze seems like a relatively normal guy.
well he is a nasty chain smoker guys; and this is what happens to chain smokers!
edit: my source isn't HWBL, its just a known fact that he is one.
I have never heard of anybody who survived pancreatic cancer. A word to the wise, every single person I've known who died from it was a smoker. Every one of them

We're still praying those reports that Patrick Swayze has terminal pancreatic cancer are untrue.
His publicist has yet to issue a statement.
However, a very good source just told us the following:
"Patrick has been at rehearsals for a new cheer leading movie at century city studio frequently lately, and he definitely does not look like he has 5 more weeks of life left…im not sure of his medical condition(s), but if he is gravely ill, he is hiding it very well."
Let's hope he is not as gravely ill ("5 Weeks Left To Live") as is being reported!

didnt mean to sound insensitive; i just dont understand anyone who smokes now-a-days, although its sad what they go through health-wise.
My second cousin's husband died of pancreatic cancer two months after he was diagnosed. i hope it is true that this isn't true. I've always thought Patrick had a good sense of humor about his career.
Oh, and he went to my high school.

I'm afraid it's true.
I live in Houston TX which is where PS is from I heard it on the news on my way to work.

If this is true, I think its shitty for the media to "out" it. Its an extremely personal situation and you don't want to be hounded by the media, answer questions, or have people look at you differently. Its a damn shame because most people need the comfort that comes from taking control of your final days, privately telling your loved ones, and getting things in order. The media really really sucks in times such as these.

Not much that I have ever read from a stranger has brought tears to my eyes, but reading this did.
My Mother died of pancreatic cancer and watching this cancer take her from us was devastating, especially when it took her so very quickly. She was diagnosed, and we were told she had 3 weeks left; exactly three weeks later, she was gone.
My Mother never smoked a day in her life and was otherwise a very healthy woman her entire life.
The specialist told my family that pancreatic cancer is heredity and that the chances of one of my siblings or myself getting it was very high.

they're all getting their info from the national enquirer, even the so-called 'news' so it hasnt really been confirmed as of yet ppl. but the natl. enquirer is always right!
Well, I just checked the websites for ET, Access Hollywood, The Insider, Extra, and E!Online, and so far, none of them are reporting this. The only hits I get are from sites that are citing the Enquirer article, and nothing else.
