Well, if I were able to, I'd be partying and having
some fun in my last days. If I were able to!

    should HAVE, dear.

and there's nothing wrong with it, how do you subtly ask if someone is about to croak? lol

And he could spend his last days in peace. I don't know if that makes any sense. I just feel frustrated at what i feel is the extent to which celebs protest what the entire world pretty much knows to be true.
Most people who are dying have to go through the denial phase. Some folks dying of cancer don't have enough time to get over that phase and onto the next.....

Eveyone dies the best way they can.....it ain't easy....and it ain't like on tv......

If someone you love has terminal cancer....you are not in big hurry to admit it to yourself or others.....everyone thinks that they could be the 1% (or 4%, whatever) that beats it.....

I used to smoke and i can't stand the smell either--it repulses me. My co-workers go for a smoke break and they come back and the sick smell is emanating in about a 20 feet circle around them. I am really sensitve to it---i can smell smoke from my neighbours! It actually comes through the bathtub faucet .
I had no idea of the smell when i was smoking either...i honestly used to think no one could smell it on me, or in my apartment, or on my clothes. Sheesh.

Heathersharon--way to go! You've made it through the hardest part and the good news is that YOU NEVER HAVE TO SMOKE AGAIN. One tip--don't ever just have 'one drag' or just 'one smoke'. It's like an alcoholic having just one drink. It will lead you back to addiction again (learned the hard way).
Yeah, I second that Heathersharon, I'm really proud of you. I personally have never smoked a day in my life and I am really hypersensitive to cigarette smoke. My husband smoked when I first met him for 14 years, and quit cold turkey for me. I am still so happy for that sacrifice on his part, it was almost a deal-breaker for me. Now though, just like you said, he realizes just how awful he must have smelled - when we go out, he cringes at how smoky everything is, and how bad his clothes smell afterwards.

Yeah, didn't Clark Gable say kissing her was just absolutely disgusting? I remember reading that after takes, when the director wanted more shots of them kissing, Gable would plead with him not to. Its funny now when I watch the film I can detect that when he's kissing her he's trying so hard not to breathe.

It's just so sad I don't know if I'd be in denial but I would prepare the shit out of my death. I'd prolly lose faith in everything. The people who fight and survive are really brave.

If you think it's crazy, you ain't seen a thing. Just wait until we're goin down in flames.

i thought it was the other way around, because of his false teeth.
i got this from Gone With the Wind
She disliked kissing Clark Gable because of his false teeth and found much of the dialogue 'ridiculous' thinking no one would believe a lot of the scenes they shot. It was exhausting for everyone involved. One scene in particular - Melanie's death - was shot near the end of production after a long day of shooting:

I also hope this isn't true. My prayers and thoughts are with him and his family.

There's a very nice layout in the latest issue of People Magazine...lot's of photos. Talks about him, his wife, his family in general. Lots of quotes from his brother-in-law about how he's doing and how Lisa is cooking special meals for him. His BiL says it's important that he maintain his weight by eating right but he can't eat solid fatty food because it makes him sick but he can eat it if it's ground up in a blender. He lost weight and became jaundiced before the diagnosis which is why he went to the doctor to begin with but he's now gained the weight back. Surgery is a possible option. He is doing chemo and taking a new drug and so far hasn't lost his hair. BiL says he looks good and is nicely tanned. BiL also said he does not smoke three packs of cigs a day. All in all, a very nice story about Patrick and Lisa.
