    That is kind of weird.

Something weird for me: I remember the first time I saw Dirty Dancing, I was 9 (too young, no doubt) and watched it with two elementary school friends. I have not seen those two friends in years and years and I saw one of them for the first time in I don't know how long today at lunch.

    TOO many sweetheart.

The one I can tell is when he was filming Wayne's World, we (actually my PC RIP friend) went to a biker bar on Hollywood Blvd, they did tequila shots, got wasted where I did not. Next morning I found them sleeping on his porch on the floor. I went in to take a shower, blow dryed my hair and grumpy drunkerson yelled at me that my hair was all over his bathroom floor. He spent hours cleaning before company. I apologized and said how I always tried so hard to clean up all the hair but sometimes it was hard to see it on the tile floor.

He was just busting my chops. He wasn't mad.

Sorry to jack the thread Patrick.

Reality Check. The prognosis for pancreatic cancer is always Very Bad. It's not surviveable, although with the correct treatment he'll get some time he wouldn't have had otherwise - if he's lucky. It's one of those cancers you can't beat and I'm afraid it's a question of 'when' not 'if'. I hope he gets to enjoy whatever time he has left with peace and happiness surrounded with the love of those closest to him.

^^I've had two friends die of it in less than a year. It is quick, but agonizingly painful.

My grandpa died from pancreatic cancer, didn't smoke. Also a neighbour, poor man had never smoked in his life. And my mother's pancreas failed and this contributed to her death. She'd never smoked in her life and never drank more than one glass of wine (which was enough to make her tipsy). Pancreatic cancer is one of the worst. Practically no survival rate. The only slightly good thing about it is that it's quick but it's so painful... My grandfather had it worst because he wasn't diagnosed until he had maybe a month to live. He was in constant pain and the doctors were telling him it was nerves

I hope Patrick does well and that he is surrounded with people who love him. I hate how he was "outed" like this. It's his life and nobody elses business but his. I'll always remember him as Ori in North and South, I had the biggest crush on him...

I'm glad I didn't read this a few months back when I had gallstones and didn't know what was going on. But I was VERY sick and was starting to think the worst. God, what kind of doctor would tell you that!

I don't think there's a particular link between pancreatic cancer and smoking. It's just very random and bad luck.

^I don't think there is one either. I've heard that booze is blamed for pancreas problems in general but I don't know about cancer, really. It can be pretty random.

And yay, that's just what cancer victims need, to get blamed for it. I feel bad for everybody, including chain smokers.
