Funny how there was no mention of Phil Spector in that rant. You know, the man accused of putting a gun in a woman's mouth and nearly blowing her head off. But I guess that's not in the same league as O.J. and Vick, right?

If there is a God then OJ and Phil will die some horrible awful death..maybe burning to death in a car accident. And soon. Vick did not kill anyone, and as much as I detest what he did to those animals, I think he is at least possibly redeemable. He can turn his shit around, if he wants to and makes the decision. I still would like to see some nutcase kill OJ, and then maybe off themself, so there would be no can of worms. Or maybe he can just be struck by lightning or something-while on a golf course in Flaw-duh, you know, where he is looking for the real killers..*eyeroll*

*I just despise OJ with a white hot intensity. Yeah he should not be thrown in jail for some trumped up bullshit charges though. Still would like to see karma take a deadly bite outta his ass.

And yeah I know dscrimination is rampant, and on many different levels. Especially in what I have witnessed or seen-driving while black or Mexican(they always seem to get pulled over) and the 'getting watched and followed' while shopping in stores...those kinds of things. Not the most extreme form of prejudice-but these kinds are so entrenched and happen so often and are so insidious I would imagine that they are very demoralizing and are almost an attack on the soul itself. I think that things are slowly getting better though.

The way I look at it, karma always comes back around. So, O.J. will eventually get what's coming to him. It might take time, but it'll happen. And the reason it'll happen is because he keeps getting himself into trouble.

Same goes for Phil Spector, Robert Blake, and Michael Vick. Karma is a bitch. And it always gets you when you least expect it.

Since Portland is such a white city, I see a lot of racial profiling here. The PPD has a very bad rep, unfortunately.

I agree about Michael Vick. I watched his statement and felt it was sincere. If OJ had been man enough and sane enough he could have set an example for men worldwide about their abusing, and great strides could possibly have been made in the area of domestic violence. The tide was turning at that time, but he didn't fully understand that America loves a redeemed screw-up. Even if he had understood it, his mental illness is progressed to such a degree that he would not have been able to follow through on a confession, rehabilitation and redemption.

No offense, but this thread is about OJ, NOT Phil Spector or anybody else currently accused of/convicted of murder. Not certain why every mention of OJ must be accompanied by a mention of somebody else, preferably white, also accused of murder.

I would be more than happy to rant about Spector in a thread about Spector, but I don't think it's essential to mention him or anyone else in a thread about OJ.

Michael Vick did some horrible things, but I don't think it's fair to rank him up there with Simpson, Spector, and Blake. They murdered human beings, 2 of them murdered their childrens' own mother. It's mindblowing how they are walking around as free men.

King, I totally agree with you. People rag on OJ much worse than Spector and Blake, but he is the bigger celebrity. Most younger folks don't even know who Spector and Blake are so they're just not as interested. It's the media that's responsible for who gets talked about the most.

As a mad animal lover, I think part of the reason people went so crazy over the Michael Vick thing is that many people consider animals to be like babies, helpless, without any options. It's not the same feeling about people, who do have resources to remove themselves from situations in most cases. I'm not explaining myself very well, but you get the drift ...

I think the Blake thing died down because he wasn't really that famous any more, her family didn't make a fuss afterwards, and as somebody else said, she was put into the category of a sleaze after those stories of her conning old men on the internet, etc.

I totally agree with those who said the OJ thing would have been different if his wife had been black. It's a sad commentary on our society that cute white victims get more media attention, think Laci Peterson. How many people and kids go missing and you really never hear much beyond the initial story.

Yeah, I understand that the thread is about O.J., but since people keep bringing Michael Vick into the thread, then that opens the door to bring in Phil Spector.

Sweetness, I agree with everything you just said. Especially the part about comparing Michael Vick to O.J. and Robert Blake.

I haven't brought him or anyone else into it, just making a point. HBWL did the same thing and I mentioned that I was discussing OJ, not anybody else. It's all good.

Yeah, you haven't, but others have. And you're right, it's all good.

I agree, in part. O.J. may have had the bigger celebrity, before the
murder trial, but ONLY in the US. Outside the US, he only became
(in) famous AFTER the murder trial. Blake, however, had his series
"Baretta" broadcast worldwide and had, pretty recently, been
hailed for some creepy supporting roles in movies. Of the three,
Spector had the biggest and broadest celebrity as the "inventor"
of the "wall of sound" in music, and is even to this day often
mentioned on the radio. People may not have known what he
looked like, but worldwide, his name rings more bells than the
    two others combined.

^You hit the nail right on its head there. It IS statistically proven
that, unfortunately, all is still very race influenced. Again: had O.J.
been white and Nicole black, had they both been black or even
both been white, then it would not have turned into the mega
    hype that it did.
