    I like Triscuits!!

Lobelia - you mentioned a grocery that has a nice cheese display. We have that here in Wegman's and I have found the people who behind the counter LOVE to make recommendations and allow you to taste a lot of different cheeses. Maybe your store will do that for you.

If I'd known sooner you could have had the leftover brie that I found lurking and furry in the back of the fridge and stinking the whole thing out. Strong words were had with the household cheese-snarfler.

We have a few really, really good cheese shops near us. One even sells *gasp!* unpasteurized cheese!

They're always more than happy to have you try whatever they have. I can't even walk in there without dropping $50 or $60, but it's so freaking good!

They sell a really nice smoked gouda that I use to make macaroni and cheese (makes it taste like it has bacon in it), so yummy!

We also have a really good greek grocery store I think I mentioned upthread that has the greatest deli - a feta bar, an olive bar, and really great meats and cheeses at great prices. I love going there and stocking up! Hmmm, maybe a trip there is in order this weekend. With a quick stop at the cheese shop and a couple of bottles of wine! Sounds like my weekend plans are in order!

Yeah, I'm surprised at the smoked cheese hate.

This is a Kroger that just remodeled and now has a market look/feel to it which is wonderful. Very nice shopping experience. However, the employees are still standard grocery store employees, which are quite often very nice helpful people. But the sullen-looking young woman behind the counter just looked like she wanted to go home and while you can't judge a book by its cover, I just didn't pick up a feeling that she knew a damn thing about cheese. I'll reassess next time I go in

Smoked cheese-I have to cut the outside off, most are away too smokey for my taste. Or maybe you are supposed to do that?

I made a brie and Apple quesadilla and dipped it in raspberry couli. Happy happy girl.

i love triscuits. though only the original ones or the low sodium ones (those are the best, even better than the original). i tried a few of the flavoured ones and they're nice at first but then quickly become cloying and now i'm over them and back to plain.
they're yummy, crunchy and delicious and i think i just really love the texture.

I went shopping Sunday and got provolone, Swiss, white cheddar, brie and a roasted garlic/herb spread. And made a grilled cheese sandwich. It was awful but so freakin' delicious. Melty and gooey and sexy...

If you have an Aldi near you, they stock some high end cheeses for reasonable prices. A wheel of smoked gouda is like $3 at my Aldi, and HyVee sells it for at least $6. I know they also have goat cheese and others. You totally have no guilt about buying a ton of fancy cheeses.
