I honestly hope the Graziano family takes all their money. It's expensive to care for someone in John's state, and it's the least the Hogans can do. Hulk Hogan was seen giving his underage son and all his friends liquor on the day of the crash.

I think that just highlights how sad this situation is.
Anyone know whether the Grazianos have filed a civil suit against the Hogans?

Eight months is nothing. He deserved much, MUCH harsher sentencing imo. It's crazy that the maximum sentence was only 12 months.
I sincerely hope the Graziano family takes them to the cleaners with a civil suit.

I agree, Beeyotch. 8 months in a county jail - oh boohoo. This kid really gets under my skin. He's a punk poser who liked to drive as fast as police, evade police, and apparently drink. So accept the consequences of your actions, bitch. Looks like you didn't evade the authorities this time, eh? Too bad your daddy couldn't get you off. He doesn't seem remorseful to me in the least - if this was my best friend I probably would have tried to commit suicide, I would have been so distraught. He doesn't give a shit - even his "trips" to visit John were obviously set up by PR for the paps to get their shots.

8 months eh? Well that ain't shit at all for ruining a friend's life. However I do think that Nick will forever be reminded on how much of a useless douchebag he is. Even after jail he'll be a loser that ruined another person's life. That's punishment enough.

I read John's medical bills already exceed a million dollars. I'll be curious to see what his family sues for.

I glad that he is at least spending some jail time but his friend is not fortunate to be able to do anything for himself that is the sad part. Hogan son is a spoiled brat. In Hollywood it is he would of gotten off. This sentence is too short in my opinion.

And what the eff was Hulk Hogan doing wearing that scarf on his head in court? No headgear in court folks - except for him?

I agree the sentence was "light", but that said you also can't overlook the fact that his friend John bears a small amount of responsibility for getting in the car with him (Barry Lawrence told police he was "speeding around" and added that Nick "always drives like that." ) and then not wearing his seatbelt.
Wear those seatbelts kids.

As soon as this little asshole can drive again, his parents will no doubt reward him with an expensive sports car.
BTW, I just wanted to point out that if any one of us had done this, we'd be in jail for a lot longer than he's going to be.

^ If we'd done what Nick had done, not only would we be in jail for a long time, we also, probably, wouldn't be allowed to drive ever again.

Because the victim didn't die, the maximum is only twelve months?
Interesting. There was a case like this in Britain a few months ago. A man was speeding, crashed into the back of a car, and basically turned a toddler into a vegetable. He got nine months because the child didn't die. The maximum was twelve months, also. Usually US sentances and UK ones vary massively.

They should have given him a harder sentence, for turning the man into a vegetable. That's a fate that's worse than death, in my honest opinion.

exactly. and i would even go so far as to say he bears more than just a small amount of responsibility. it's not like he was innocently driving another car and nick hogan crashed into him. he was probably drunk himself and got into a car driven by his 17 year-old drunken friend.
i don't think the sentence was excessively harsh. and i hate the hogan family but i don't see why he should be punished for the fact that his friend is basically a vegetable now as a result of willingly and knowingly getting into a car with a drunk driver.
the al-qaeda comment by his parents is retarded. it would have applied if their son had been driving another car but as it is, it must suck for them to have lost their son (he may not be technically dead but still) and they probably can't come to terms with the fact that he was equally responsible.
