It's not that I think anyone who is in shape is a vain asshole!
It's important to take good care of yourself. It's also important to take care of your mind, too. You know what I mean? I have a nice body--people ask me if I'm a dancer all the time. Which is stupid 'cause my boobs are huge. But whatever. The point is....there's a difference between people who take good care of themselves, and are in good shape and have an inner beauty and an intelligence and blah blah blah.
What bothers me is that there are those who obviously have no interest in anything EXCEPT for their bodies, and how they look, and you cannot hold a conversation with them. There are women out there starving themselves, feeling sick and unattractive because we've made some weird photoshop/porn star image the ideal of beauty.
You know what I mean?
Edited to add: Again, I maintain that any dum-dum can get in shape. I've met more "hot" people who were dumber than a box of hair, and had no interest in anyone else but themselves. I'll take an absent-minded professor any day.

I'm sure that you made some great points Lily BUT....I stopped reading after I saw that you had HUGE BOOBS!! , I guess that means I'm vain...but whatever...luvs me some boobs! lol

I am strangely very comforted by celebrities with cellulite. I've been blessed with no cellulite for the majority of my life. I had some on my butt but none on my legs at all. Recently i've seen the cellulite creep down the back of my legs and now on the front of my thighs. This has actually been extremely traumatic to me--i guess i consider it the definitive sign of aging. It's not due to weight gain--i can tell that it's because my skin is thinning out (aging) and becoming 'looser'. I don't know, it really comforts me to know that these 'paragons of beauty' are not immune. It's one thing to see it on your friends, but on women who you assume have every method of treatment available---that makes me feel good. I may sound shallow but i think it also comes from having a background as an athlete--i've always been in control of my body and how it looks and this is something i can't work away .

I think a lot of us are still amazed at Nicolette Sheridan's dramatic cellulite reduction or smoothing out or whatever she did. They are supposedly coming out with new surgery techniques that will get rid of cellulite. Apparently the lipo they have now doesn't work too well on cellulite.

Her legs are just wrong. Not the cellulite; I'm not slamming her for that, it happens to lots of us. Just the general shape of them...her legs are hideous.

This is still the feel-good thread of the spring for me.
