I remember all the juicy dish after they died about what a cokehead Carolyn Bessette was.

Yeah, Michael Bergin. What a lowlife. He allegedly wrote that book to pay off drug debts from what I heard....

JFK Jr was on my list. I always told my husband that he was safe til JFK Jr came knocking, then I would have to bid farewell to the hubby. Here's how the news of his death went down in my house:

Hubby: "Hey did you see the news? JFK Jr plane crashed and he's missing. Probably dead."
Me: "Shut the fuck up! That's not funny."
Hubby: "I'm totally serious. Sorry. Now you're stuck with me."

I always thought he could do better than Carolyn Bessette. She was VERY homely to me. I did not see a great beauty there.

I think you are forgetting that he also dated Sarah Jessica Parker mare months before he took up with Carolyn.

I thought she was stunningly beautiful, in a very unique way. That photo of John kissing her hand as they came out of the church after their wedding just slayed me. A fairy tale come to life and I don't care and don't want to hear how staged it might have been. I refuse to believe. Their relationship did appear rather volatile, but one of his friends used to comment that John liked women with a lot of "weather," a sweet way of saying he craved the drama, I suppose.

i thought she was gorgeous too. and she had style.
don't know what their relationship was like but jfk, jr. did seem like a mama's boy who liked to be bossed around by the women in his life.

i thought she was gorgeous in a non-cookie cutter way.

most of the time she had great style, but i can't say that i liked the braless wedding dress so much ....

I've only come to appreciate her looks recently, at the time I thought she was hideous. Great style though, effortless.

I thought she was gorgeous but I'm not sure they would have made it long term. Too much drama.
