If they would just buy their own clothes, when they were asked
"who's dress are you you wearing" they could reply "mine".....

Even during the 1980s and 1990s stars would dress themselves to the Oscars. Plus the attention back then wasnt so much on the designer clothes.

For someone who acts like she is so smart, she sure says some dumb things. Natalie no one is forcing you to wear designer dresses, you wear them because you like them and you get them for free. Why put down an industry that you promote?

By the way alot of us do watch the academy awards to see what the actors and actresses are wearing. I turn it off after they awards show starts. I only like the red carpet.

regular people used to be able to deduct too....if your job required a uniform.....but all thats gone now....since the early 90's.....

But at least when you used to see Liz Taylor in diamonds they were hers...not on loan for the evening

It is kind of annoying that she plays into it. She could be a role model if she wanted, sort of just do her own thing with whatever she's comfortable wearing. She seems really smart, unlike a ton of other actresses her age. Too bad she made herself sound like a hypocrite with her statement.
