Thankfully, no. But he kept doing that stupid licking his lips thing, and he wore his shades inside the entire time.

Agreed, Kingcap. Stupid stupid stupid. Too bad cause I always liked him.

I used to like Nas, too. I thought he had more sense. Guess not.

Amy even wrote a song about him: "Me and Mr. Jones" a.k.a. "Fuckery". It's kickass.

I get tired of some of these dumb-ass rappers trying to find excuses for using the N-word in all of their songs. They think that the majority of their music is being brought by young black kids in the ghetto, when the truth is the majority of people buying hip-hop are young white kids from the suburbs.
And by those kids constantly hearing these black rappers use the N-word then they start using it, thinking it's okay. And these idiot rappers will be the first ones to get pissed off if one their white hip-hop fans used the N-word around them. Morons.

So true it ain't even funny.
Reminds me of that Dave Chapelle skit called "Black White Supremacist" when Dave ("Clayton Bigsby") is 'blind' and he thinks he's an old white redneck and the white kids pull up next to him blasting rap. Dave goes, "Damn n.....s!" and the white kids go, "COOL! He called us n.....s!!"

ok using the N word is never cool......when will these rappers learn that? I honestly don't understand how some people can use it but not see how horrible it sounds or the history behind the word. Especially when the people using it are blacks themselves. It makes no sense to go on and on about how bad a word is and then turn around and use it.

I'm very proud to say that recently my 9 year old asked me what "N word" meant (she said she heard it on t.v.), as she had never heard of it before. I had to tell her what it stood for, and explain how and why it is never to be used. She had never even heard the actual word. When I told her she was puzzled because her best friend at school is black..... she asked, "Why would anyone say anything mean about Yvonna?"
Considering where we live, I was pleased (and surprised) that she didn't know. I wish the word would just phase out all together. My daughter got me to thinking that maybe there is hope after all.

^I had heard of it through a song of Michael Franks, Sanpaku, and then years later I was reading a macrobiotic website and saw the term used and learned a bit more about what it stands for.
Sweetness I'm not all that articulate about the subject but I think it is improving in some pockets of America. There's still a long way to go, but your daughter's story is becoming more and more prevalent.

I love funk, too. I have a great compilation CD, Pure Funk, and every once in a while I just have to play it full blast. I have a lot of funk records and CDs, but I never got into rap much, although I can appreciate some of it.

I love that Dave Chappelle skit. It was funny, but spot on. Classic.

That's a nice story about your daughter. I think if more parents, black, white, brown & yellow would be open and honest like that with their kids it would help to alleviate a lot of problems.

Definitely on board with the funk, hell no with the rap
That is when I ain't listening to zydeco, deep south blues and the black jazz artists of the 70's (Hutcherson, etc.)

I like rap & funk. I think the rise in gangsta rap has been the big problem.
