Yea it's stupid but now she is milking this into making her a saint and putting her name in the media and becoming more famous than the actual winner of this tournament. The backlash is starting to actually work in her favor for publicity.

I wouldn't doubt she has a book in the works, as well as maybe an announcer spot at FOX network.
