It's not a question of who 15 yo boys are looking at, clearly they look at girls their own age. It's a question of the kinds of images that are put out there of young girls. This didn't just start with Miley, but the blase attitudes displayed here and elsewhere about these particular photos are proof that these types of images are "normalized". It's not ok to sexualize underage girls. What's next? Should they be able to do straight up porn? Maybe we should strip laws against engaging in sex with underage girls from the statutes?

Grown women doing cheesecake or even porn, which I have nothing against btw, is perfectly ok as they are old enough to make their own decisions. But don't think VF had no idea of the implications of these particlular images.

I think it may be a metaphor for Miley being stripped of her privacy/possibly dignity for public consumption via the media. A statement piece. It reminds me of some of the early Kate Moss photographs, and that was basically what those images of her were supposed to represent.

It's a bit crap imo, not original at all.

Yes, I'm devoting another post to the Miley Cyrus/Vanity Fair scandal. It's not much of a scandal now that I think about it and I've thought about it way too much. Kathie Lee Gifford (I know, I really shouldn't watch Today) said that the above picture of Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus is much more disturbing than the semi-topless one. Hey, at least she's not topless in the one with daddy. Kathie said there is no way she would ever have posed this way with her daddy. Yeah, but you know she has a picture like this with Cody.
You know what's the most offensive thing about all of this? It's offensive that these redneck twats are getting this much attention! This is exactly what they wanted.
