I agree that she's not just talking about her sexuality to make a more interesting interview. Given the horrible pregnancy rumors surrounding her, she had to say something to deny the rumors.

I don't know about the virginity vow and no sex before marriage, "pure" stuff. A simple "I'm 14 and I feel I'm too young to be having sex" would have sufficed.

I don't see how her remark really dispels any rumours.

It all boils down to (1) Ignore it completely and take the high road as people will always talk or (2) come out with stupid interviews like this which prove nothing. People may now think maybe she was pregnant and had an abortion.

Rumours abound in her world. Why bother to make an issue out of all of them?

what i don't get is that in this day and age there are still women that believe this crap and want to live that way.
as for teen pregnancies, the problem isn't sex. it's that these people are dumb and can't be bothered to take the pill or use condoms.
