I saw an interview with her and her Dad last week. Billy Ray made it very clear that he and his wife are heavily involved and watching where she goes and what she does. He said as soon as this stops being fun for her they will head right back to the ranch in Tennessee. He made it clear that he has seen too many young stars used by parents to finance the family and his family doesn't need that. She has a curfew, chores around the house, cleans her own room and gets an allowance. It sounds like they are trying to keep her grounded in some reality. I hope it works.

So does this mean virginity will also be a requirement for the guy she marries? I could have a smidgen of respect if I ever heard of any of these "sex is dirty and impure" idiots hold a man to the same standards, looking down on a man who had "ruined himself" in the same way they do a woman.

I don't care that she's only 14. If she's old enough to have an opinion on sex, she's old enough to take my flak for it.

I think unless daddy is gonna keep her chained to his hip, nothing short of a spiked chastity belt is gonna keep her intact when she's a few years older and bursting with hormones and suddenly fancies herself "in lurve" with some dude.

I am not really a Miley fan, but I think it's good that she's bringing something to the table other than the idea that you have to be a highly sexualized, promiscuous slut to be popular or desirable to guys, which is the message most of the other starlets tend to send out (whether intentional or not).

That being said, when I was 14 I was also adamant about waiting for marriage. When you're still young and you've never been in a serious relationship, it's easy to judge other people and to say that you'll never do it.

It's great that she's inspiring other girls not to give in to all of the pressure, and I definitely believe the important thing is that she's a good role model for the kids, but as an adult who has been there, I also have to wonder if she really knows what she's talking about. If she's still bragging about this after having had her first serious boyfriend, then I'll take her seriously.

She is 14! She is going to say all kind of stuff and if she does hold out then who cares? It's her life.

I'm actually pretty tired of womens' sexuality being at the forefront of their identity, period. That includes them defining themselves (or being defined by others) based on whether they have had sex, will have sex, or how much and what kind of sex they have. I'm especially sick of virginity being held up like some prized commodity for females.

Amen.

And please, she's 14. Should the media really be hounding her about pregnancy/sex questions? I cannot even fathom someone asking me about my sex life at that age. I would have died of embarrassment that anyone had even considered asking.

Seriously, Disney breeds some fucked up twats....

NOT saying she is one of them, but Disney doesn't have a great track record with producing wholesome women.
