Okay this woman on MSNBC, Flo Anthony, who is going on and on about how awesome Michael was is on my last nerve. He wasn't bigger than Elvis, The Beatles or John Lennon.

Well, everyone's entitled to their opinion and I respect them. I'm not about to get into some big debate over him, especially now, when us fans are a little sad about his passing, but I can see others' views on him.
Anyone who has any kind of celebrity gets scrutinized. It's the American way. Build them up, then tear them down. I felt sorry for him. It was despicable the way the American media treated him. He practically had to flee his own country because he was mercilessly ridiculed. He definitely had his issues, but he was a musical genius. Through his art he brought a lot of happiness to people and I have no doubt he will live on, just like Elvis. 30 yrs from now kids will know who Michael Jackson was and they'll still be jammin' his music.

Now I wonder how much my records are going to be worth, I have Thriller and Off the Wall in mint condition in my attic.

I feel that same way, DeadDwarf. I was a huge fan when I was about 12-13 years old, before he went all weird and stuff. And before the pedo accusations. It's like he was a completely different person back then. Well, I guess with all the plastic surgery, he actually was a different person back then.
I have a pack of "Thriller" souvenir trading cards and gum. I wonder what that's worth now.

To be honest, most people will have forgotten him by then. Plus I hope when either of them pass it will be in 50 or so years and I'll be knocking on death's door then anyway!

AGREE AGREE AGREE!!!
I cried for days when John Lennon died. December 8, 1980, my freshman year of college. Everyone cried. We just couldn't understand why anyone would want to shoot such a peaceful man.
I'm starting to cry now...

He was ridiculed and became a target due to his own fucked up action. Boo fucking hoo. Here's a thought: don't feed the kiddies Jesus Juice and then try to diddle them and people won't make fun of you or ridicule you. I really cannot believe that the fact that someone made music that a lot of people liked absolves them from being called out as a pedophile. Fuck that. He was a sick fuck and I'm glad his kids might have a shot at a normal life now, although I doubt it.
