I wonder why we haven't heard from Liz Taylor yet. Wasn't she supposed to be close friends with Michael?

The only ones I feel sorry for, in all this mess, are his kids. Whoever will get them, it will be because of greed and not love.

She released a statement the day after he died.

“My heart…my mind are broken. I loved Michael with all my soul and I can’t imagine life without him. We had so much in common and we had such loving fun together. I was packing up my clothes to go to London for his opening when I heard the news. I still can’t believe it. I don’t want to believe it. It can’t be so. He will live in my heart forever but it’s not enough. My life feels so empty. I don’t think anyone knew how much we loved each other. The purest most giving love I’ve ever known. Oh God! I’m going to miss him. I can’t yet imagine life without him. But I guess with God’s help … I’ll learn. I keep looking at the photo he gave me of himself, which says, ‘To my true love Elizabeth, I love you forever.’ And, I will love HIM forever.”

thanks nodaybuttoday, I was in Paris working the day Jackson died so I heard just muffled reports and I thought Taylor hadn't spoken.

Jerry Lee Lewis married his underage cousin, but he's still considered one of the greats of early Rock & Roll. Roman Polanski drugged a 13 or 14 year old girl, had sex with her and fled the country, but he's still considered a great director. Phil Spector shot somebody, but he's still considered one of the great producers of early Rock & Roll. So, people shouldn't be shocked that MJ is being lauded as an icon, despite the freaky plastic surgery and molestation trial/accusations
Very very true.

Thankfully, we here at GR, for the most part, do not automatically fawn at celebrities or anyone else because everyone else considers them living gods. We DO in fact take into account past and or current behavior in judging them.

THE burning question we all have here (Buttmunch, Grimm, etc.), is WHY THE f**k Oprah, the living incarnation of all things good and pure in this world, has not uttered one word in the media in regards to MJ. As far as we know, she has not released any statements or acknowledgements, even on her website. Even I'm starting to wonder now.

My thought was that there's no way Oprah wanted her statements to get drowned out in the initial mad house that immediately followed MJ's death. No, she is simply too important for that. HER words, thoughts, and sympathies must stand alone apart from the lesser mortals. Hence she may be planning something huge maybe a week from now to show the world HER pain.

Or maybe she doesn't give a f**k.

That's cuz he's the KING!

Can you imagine the hordes of people descending on L.A.? From out of state, out of country?

They will SHUT DOWN downtown L.A.!! People will call in sick to attend, kids will stay out of school. This will be a remembrance and memorial the likes of which the world has never seen!

Cuz he is the king of the pedophiles. All the other creepers can hope to get away with it as he is.

This adulation and media coverage of a drug addicted, pedo makes me want to hurl.

They were saying a few days ago that maybe 100,000 people will show up for the service. This morning on the today show,...they were estimating 750,000 or more. Doesn't the Staples Center only hold 20,000 people? Where is the MAJOR over flow going to go?

I have never been to LA or California,...so I am not familiar with the area around the Staples Center. Is there even room for that many people to safely congregate in the area??

Bella, I get you, but we don't know what Quincy Jones said to MJ while he was alive. I wouldn't be surprised if he did call him out for BS back then.

And as for the media, no one was interested in what Quincy had to say until MJ died.

Well, they are only giving out 17,500 tickets. And you have to sign up for them, then a computer randomly selects your name. I signed up, if I get selected...oh well!

Ok so the first MJ tribute song:
YouTube - The Game (Feat. Chris Brown) - Better On The Other Side (Michael Jackson Tribute)

It starts out "I remember the first time I saw you moonwalk" I knew it was a disaster then. Hook is hot the rest sucks!

ASSHOLE OF THE WEEK: MICHAEL JACKSONBy Chaunce Hayden
It's time for the voice of reason. Michael Jackson was an asshole. There, I said it, and I'll say it again. Michael "creepy, boy-loving" Jackson was an asshole. Got a problem with that? Too bad. I refuse to jump on the "rest in peace, we love you, Michael" bandwagon and shed tears over someone who was so f-ing despicable. How quickly the world forgets or conveniently chooses not to remember.
Allow me to quickly recap the life of this troubled superstar: Michael Jackson was a pedophile. Michael Jackson was a drug addict. Michael Jackson
abused his own children both physically and emotionally. Michael Jackson was a deadbeat who owed millions in unpaid bills. Oh yeah, and Michael Jackson could sing and dance like a motherf--ker. And now, he's dead. Boo hoo. What surprises me is how long this frail child molester was able to physically walk the earth. Let's face it; Michael, for all intent and purpose, had left the human race years ago as he morphed into one of his Thriller video characters before our very eyes. But like the "Emperor's New Clothes," the world chose to ignore the true horror of this self-mutilated beast.
For 50 years, this soft-spoken mummy moonwalked his way through life leaving a trail of victims in his wake. God knows how many brainwashed boys were befriended by the ghoulish performer with the lure of cash, toys, exotic pets and an alcohol concoction Michael cleverly called "Jesus Juice" to loosen 'em up before a night of debauchery. Imagine your own child lying in bed next to Michael wondering why the room is spinning while a wig-wearing 5'10", 115-pound grown man in clown makeup gropes at his innocence. Yet, we cry for this animal as if Christ himself was crucified before our eyes. Please, spare me.
Someone should have put Michael out of his misery many years ago. A stake through the heart would have been more merciful than to allow this half-human/half plastic thing to slither through his backyard amusement park, hunting for his pubescent prey. In the end, I believe Michael himself knew what he had become and made the choice to put a stop to the madness. While the word "suicide" has yet to be brought up between all the blind tears, it's my hope that Michael, in an effort to stop himself from hurting any other child, put an end to his own miserable existence.
I will not mourn the death of Michael Jackson no more than I would mourn the death of any pedophile that hunts down children for deviant pleasure...Regardless of his musical abilities.
Tonight, as I write this column, my heart and tears go out to those children who grew up much too soon thanks to the "King of Pop."
This is exactly how I feel. The musician and the molester are the same man. Molesting children negates his accomplishments. Sexually abusing children is his legacy. He was a monster.
