Thank you for the pics, Wookie.

I'll just always associate Mel with happy times. When my best friend and I saw The Year of Living Dangerously we didn't say a word when it was over, we just looked at each other and knew we were staying and seeing it again. We had an expression after every movie we'd see - "never enough Mel". We always sat through his movies twice in a row. Even Bird on a Wire with Goldie Hawn. We squeezed each others hands waiting for the winner to be announced at the Academy Awards. Don't mean to be maudlin, but I'm glad she wasn't around for his meltdown and the girlfriend abuse. She'd be so pissed.

I remember him in Tim. He was beautiful and such a talented actor even at that young age. I hate what I perceive of the person that he has become.

^^ Ha ha! Went with six girls and we cat called during the movie. It was at the Thalia, a revival theatre. Lots of gay men in the audience who kept shushing us.

When I was a kid my parents took me to see Romeo and Juliet at the Nimrod Theatre. He played Romeo and I had a mad crush on him after that. The next thing I saw him in was Gallipoli aged about 12 or 13 and I actually had the poster on the inside of my wardrobe for the next few years. Hate him now like poison.

So was he drunk on stage? The award show, not Romeo and Juliet.

You could tell he was seething at Gervais ruining his comeback by reminding everyone of what an awful person he is. It was fabulous. Gibson was so thrown off.

Ironically, my favorite Mel Gibson movie is one he doesn't even appear in - "Apocalypto".

I admit it, I too love Apocalptyo. One great movie he ever did (acting or directing).

Such a great movie. That last scene gets me every time. And featuring the always excellent Bill Hunter, who made every movie he was ever in better.
