A friend of mine had vertigo (BPPV) and we found out that there is a way to "cure" it quickly. She was recommended to a physiotherapist who specializes in vertigo treatment. She said that it's caused by a particles moving someplace in the ear that they shouldn't be. This therapist moves your body and head in a way that gets the particles to move back. After one treatment my friend felt back to normal.

Thought I'd pass the info along in case anyone else here has the BPPV vertigo that can be treated this way.

    That is incredibly frightening.

I had this once: Benign paroxysmal positional Vertigo.

Walking down a hall was like being on a ship on a stormy day. My coworker had to guide me to my doctor, I walked like I was drunken. The doc gave me the diagnosis right away. I went home and did the reposition maneuvers, it stopped and never came back. Thanks goodness, it was really nasty.

This is exactly what my coworker had done. For most people it only takes one treatment. Occasionally more.
