ITA. Should she be that proud to "design" dolls? I don't mean to knock on people with real talent, but does 'doll design' really take much talent? I haven't seen the whole line of dolls, but I've seen a few (incl. the "Fainting Marie" doll they pimped immediately after the incident, which makes me think even more it was staged), and they look like.... every other doll you've seen. She really shouldn't be calling herself a designer. At most, I bet she picks clothes out for the dolls and gives them names. I can totally see why real designers get so snobby when someone else picks out some color schemes and calls themself a designer.

Never watched this show, never will. Sorry to the people who like it, but it just seems soooooo dumb (inho).

Anyway, even as a non watcher, it was impossible to escape the talk about this 'faint', and it was rerun a hundred times on CNN, Headline News, etc.

I personally don't care if it was real or not.

What I CAN tell you is this: My husband works at a Casino and is involved in booking upcoming shows to the Casino Showroom. He said that Marie Osmond was scheduled to do a show several months prior to DWTS, and that her sales SUCKED. Curiously, as soon as the whole fainting shit happened, her show SOLD OUT THE NEXT DAY. (Her show was actually scheduled I believe for the following week). No one could fucking believe it....yet, they could.

Shit sells.

Doesn't surprise me at all. And as much as it pains me to say it, Marie's appearance on this show has been a PR dream for her and the rest of the Osmonds, especially the equally attention-whorish Donny.

For a family that hasn't been relevant since the 1970's, no money in the world could buy all the publicity they've had in the last few months. And they've sure used it wisely, hawking every Osmond cd, dvd, appearances, comeback tour and of course, Marie's doll collection.

I'm sure the plan is already in motion for Donny to be on the show next season so they can again nauseate me with their phony perkiness.
