She didn't say anything awful in my opinion. Lots of women think they'll be a better mom than all the other parents out there. Once they are faced with the realities of motherhood, they learn it isn't so easy.

My eldest was pretty insufferable with her first, as a lot of this generations moms are. When she had the twins it was amazing how all that went out the window. As she often said "she was just trying to keep her head above water". She was ridiculous with her first including what she wore and it had to be soft and have no "rough spots" on the inside. The twins (both boys heh heh) wear hand-me-downs and watch a fair amount of t.v. A lot of it stuff she would never have let her daughter watch. Hell her daughter didn't see any kind of t.v. or movie until she was 3. Life changes our values and sometimes our morals. She is much more fun to be around now.
Oh, I offended you with my opinion? You should hear the ones I keep to myself.

    I judge everyone, moms included.

I think we all judge other parents, especially as the kids get older. For example, there's this kid in baseball, who seems nice enough one on one, yet has serious issues, that his parents talk openly about, that make you tilt your head at them. At 8-9 years old, his mom told me that her son hits and punches her and tells her to fuck off. He's got a shitty attitude when it comes to sports (he think he's God's gift to Little League, and pouts when he doesn't play the position he wants), and is suspected of stealing money from another kid's birthday party.

The interesting thing is, hubby and I have talked about it privately, but what's funny is when a friend of ours said this to me one night at a BBQ. "I don't know what Adam's (kid's Dad) problem is and why he can't discipline his son. If my kid told his mother and my wife, to fuck off, I would lay his ass out. (points at me) and your's (hubby) would too!" So men are just as judgemental as women.
RELIGION: Treat it like it's your genitalia. Don't show it off in public, and don't shove it down your children's throats.

She doesn't sound all that cunty here, I just can't any make sense of the example she gives. What is there to possibly judge about a mother making a phone call?

We're supposed to spend every waking moment staring at our precious babies in admiration? Or watch them like hawks without distractions to make sure they don't stop breathing?

I dunno Tati, maybe she had that whole Ultimate Earth Mother idea in her head before she actually had kids herself. You know the one, where a second of attention that is not directed towards ensuring your precious little snowflake is being reassured of their unique brilliance equals emotional child abuse.

louis I know what you mean about some kids. There's a couple that I deal with regularly and I have to bite my tongue all the time. I see some of the stuff they are allowed to get away with and it's all because the parent's don't want to expend the energy to correct them and turn a blind eye to anything that involves moving off the couch. If I tried even a fraction of that shit as a kid Ma Kitty would have had me hauled off, spanked until I could barely sit and then banished to my room before what was happening had even registered in my brain.

Let's focus on the real problem - people who say, "judgie" instead of "judgemental".

Actually, I said "judgy". Mostly because I can never remember how to spell judgmental.
