When she adopted little David, he arrived at her home from Africa - and three hours later, she left to do Pilates.
|
I remember that and, along with much of the rest of the thinking world. was shocked that she schlepped the poor kid from Africa, had someone else bring him from the airport and then popped out the gym while someone else settled him in. What a cowpat.

No one with a low IQ does business like her. She might not have good social skills, but I am sure that her IQ is above average.
I hope this isn't true, I feel really sorry for her children.

She doesn't strike me as overly intelligent; she strikes me as shrewd.

I agree with shrewd, and cunning as a snake.
Besides, I've not heard anyone disparage her business acumen. It's her maternal aptitude I'm concerned about. Me thinks the lady should try and concentrate on the children she has rather than add to the collection.

A half an hour a day of Madonna is more than enough.
I feel sorry that they have such a self-involved narcissist for a mother. It's who she is though. Hopefully they'll overcome it and write wonderful tell alls.

Being a (true) mother takes way more than merely giving birth.

How much "quality" time does a working mom spend with her kids? By the time they schlep the kid/s home from day care and eat dinner, plus homework time for the kids, they are lucky to spend a half an hour with their kids.
I don't agree with Madonna buying children from third world countries but the woman is a working mom and has to do what she needs to do for her career. She's a pop star- she can't appear on stage all fat and dumpy- so I don't see how her exercise program is excessive for her line of work.
Are you guys advocating that all working mothers who actually like their career and don't "need" to work be stay at home moms? I thought we were beyond this.

Of course nobody is saying anything close to that. And you are taking this
to the extreme opposite. There is a healthy medium in this.
The objection against IT's "mothering ways" is mainly aimed at the fact that,
even if it'd spend more than half an hour a day with its kids, it is NOT a
good mother.
a) it has the morals of an alley cat and although we do not live in the
1950's anymore and nobody would hang a chastity belt on their daughters,
a mother's example of jumping from man to man the way IT does is not
exactly a good example
b) what's worse is that IT has the habit of ridiculing, demeaning and
emasculating its male counterparts as soon as it's done with them. Right
after the split between it and Guy Ritchie was made public, it didn't mind
tearing the man apart ON STAGE in public at its concerts. Another bad
example for a parent to give to their children
c) Simple everyday folk who actually need to work for a living every single
day for a boss in order to make a modest living have a more legit reason
for only spending half an hour a day with their kids than a grossly overpaid
"star" who has more money in the bank than any normal human being
would ever be able to spend in three lifetimes. IT chooses to be away
from home "working" (as in touring or recording or "acting") or working
out (nobody needs 5 or 6 days of gruelling exercise a week. Not even
professional athletes work out that much: it is NOT good for a body).

Nonsense. Most working moms spend as much time as they can with their kids. Your kids are young only for a short time--the time before you have kids and after you have them is entirely your own. While they are under your roof, they come first. If exercising 1 hour a day instead of 5 means having more time with your kids, most moms would take that trade-off any day of the week.
There are lots of ways to spend time with your kids, including talking to them while you're cooking dinner, talking to them (or better yet, listening) while you're schlepping them around, helping them with their homework, etc. You don't have to hover all over them, you just have to be there for them. The time you spend doing stuff with them is valuable--so is just sitting down and chilling with them.
The only people to whom I am truly irreplaceable are my family. It's the same for all of us.
If she isn't prepared to put her kids first, she shouldn't have had them.

You guys make a lot of sense. Of course she needs to work out for her career, but all you need to do is look at her and know she works out too much. She could, without hurting her career, spend more time with her kids. a lot of pop stars do. It is her choice, and her choice is to put herself first.

Well, I hope the Malawi adoption people are seeing this because IT intends to go back for Mercy and dump her with the latest nanny team as soon as IT can.

I'm sure her 'boyfriends' would agree.
