I think that the EEC was trying to stop UK chocolate being labeled as chocolate as it has less cocoa, more cocoabutter & more sugar than eurpoean chocolate, but that's why it can taste "creamier" than US chocolate (imo) - I'm not a fan of Herseys).

Of the UK cohoclate I prefer Galaxy as it's creamy & smooth & no too sweet... but I don't eat that much chocolate.... Agree with you on the Lindt tho...

Here I was all ready to actually eat a Cadbury Cream Egg from my easter basket (yes, lame)... Now I don't know if I can. I sort of love them too. It's so sexual to eat them, I feel embarrassed in public.

I guess it depends if you hook the filling out with your tongue..... (and I'm sure that anyone who's had one will know what I mean!)

I have never met a chocolate I couldn't like - there are times when I really NEED me some chocolate, thats when it's dangerous to come between me and my frozen Snickers as in with a S.

Love UK chocolate and maltesers (coffee is my favorite). We save room in the bags to bring back chocolate for friends and family.

The J. Schmidt truffles are so wonderful. I was given Godiva truffles and Schmidt as Christmas gifts. Couldn't pick a preference between the two.

Madonna eats the Cadbury egg and forces herself to exercise for 6 hours.

I always thought the reason UK chocolate tasted different (dare I say better?) to US chocolate, was because it had a higher cocoa content - and that Continental chocolates tasted different because their cocoa content was higher still, making the flavour even more intense. I didn't realise the cocoa itself was different.

And, as everyone's stating their prefs, I'm a bit fond of Cadbury's Buttons (snack heaven!); love Galaxy - soooo smoooooooth - and go into near-worship mode with Lindt and Green&Blacks.
