I'm sorry, you don't blame somebody else when you fall. It's the rider's fault.

Horse also looks like it has dried sweat under the girth- so it probably wasn't fresh and spooky. She needs to do something with that hair.

As Hinton put it, "If I had startled the horse, I would have gotten pictures!"
I knew it! The bitch lied. Horse just threw her muscled, sinewy-to-the-point- of-being-an-exoskeleton ass off!
Don't slap me, cause I'm not in the mood!

No either it's subdued under the helmet with a net to keep it neat or some people will do a french braid down the back for the same purpose.

Would be fun to hold her down and torture her though....

Can we pull her hair before we braid and band it?

    Just for giggles

Truly though, spurs are only as evil as the person wearing them, provided they have muscle control of their legs. I will compete wearing spurs so that, for example, when you turn for the 18' wide water jump and some kid in the horses line of sight stars waving a flag, you can redirect his attention and forward momentum so that you dont land in the middle of the open water.

^^ Ugh, maybe I'm naive but any 'sport' which requires hurting an animal for whatever reason should be banned. Right up there with rodeos and bull fights.

These are not pointy or rowelled spurs. Just a 1/2 dull teardrop shape with the wide end towards the horse. Not painful and does not break the skin. Kind of like giving him a poke with your thumb. It just gets his attention focused.

When you get to a certain level- the horse also has.have the drive to "want" to compete. Riding is a combination of control vs. self confidence that involves teamwork with the horse.

Madge will never get it out of a horse and probably sends the animal confusing signals stop with hands/go with body.

Epic fail in latest image invention.

Lots of "celebutants" like horses, because quite frankly, the horse does not care if you are M or Springsteen or Glenn Close, Tom Selleck, Athina Onassis, Princess Martha Louise, etc. The same reason that Corporate Raiders like the sport...like Michael Bloomberg, The Von Heiddegers (Keihl's ) enjoy being annonymous. Now can I be adopted by them? I've been to college and everything....

cannot agree more horseback riding is no joke and it's not just a hobby you're dealing with an amazing creature here ...
