William and his family attended the football match and George loved it. Aston Villa is his father's team. I take the phrase to mean both father and son now obviously support the club (down the bloodline.)
Racism can be hard to recognize - but not here. And other football fans are calling it out as racist. And it's in this thread because of course they were making the comparison between Harry and William. There were a LOT of racist taunts and chants at that game, by the way. To claim they are talking about the love of the team passing from father to son in that tweet - please.

@B6inthe6ix #AVFCToronto #astonvilla I wonder if Prince W is "bored" with the racism of Aston Villa Will he speak out?

Oh, and if being anti-racist means I'm a biddie ... *shrug*.

It was only a day or two ago that Villa had to issue a statement saying they were 'disgusted and appalled' at their own fans directing racist chants and songs at their own players after footage started being shared on social media.

To think that this was an innocent tweet about passing on team loyalty to your children is naive in the extreme. Racism is still a big issue in football, from the supporters to the very top.

    1. Your fellow board members are not 'biddies' for disagreeing with you.
    2. Uh, no. 'Clean bloodlines' have never been about anything but breeding. It's clearly about father and son, but in the sense that the father and son's blood is not tainted or dirty.

There's any number of ways they could have expressed the generational support of the same football team without using that verbiage. There's no reason whatsoever to be talking about bloodlines unless you're referring to people or animals. More than one sports commentator in history has gotten in trouble for implying (or even stating openly) that certain human genetics are superior to others that anyone with common sense should know to stay away from shit like this.

Hearing that there were a lot of racist chants at this game doesn't exactly surprise me. But it does make the intended double entendre of the tweet all the more obvious.

    Let's not be naive here.

    1) This is true, but let's be fair; this word has been thrown around against posters many times in MM threads.
    2) Yes, the tweet is racist. I don't see room for any other interpretation.

    Are you serious?

They were referring to Meghan being biracial. This is one of the complaints about her. That she is “tainting” the royal bloodline. You really don’t see the racism underlying this statement?

C'mon Twitchy. I know you like to make the jokes around here but it was used to make a point, in fact the same point Ravenna has made below. It's not *my* favourite word.

    Exactly.

but..... no denial that you are purposely mid-reading an incredibly obvious statement and posting to inflame other board members? Which you do repeatedly and excessively.

Reported. You can't help yourself, can you?

Any well constructed argument on the subject of the thread? Thought not.

Well goodness me, pointing out behaviour that is against the board rules is now a reportable offence? You go rollo.

As for the obvious and apparent racist comments? I already covered that off. Repeatedly. But thank you for your concern.

^ Are you saying that I am racist? Just so that I am clear what you are actually talking about.

^ Effie, the echo chamber stifles debate but Novice is something else. She seems to think that she is a mod. Thankfully, for the sake of the board, she is not and never will be.

Also, she loves to assert that other people are provocative but thinks that she can get away with her garbled innuendo.
