i try to give the other part the opportunity to talk about how are they feeling and show that i care, i don't like for them to feel that they have to ease my mind with a 'yes'.

i totally get that. if i notice someone is upset but a bit shy or private and i ask them if they are okay, they may most likely say 'yes', to make me feel better or not want to seem like a downer.

on the other hand if you ask 'hey, how are you doing?' in a concerned manner, a lot of times that open ended questions allows a person to perhaps let it all out, tell you what's going on, and maybe you can tell them when they are done "it's going to be okay".

I’m British - if someone’s asks me how I’m doing, even if it’s the worst day of my life my response is auto-wired to be “yeah I’m good thanks, how are you?”

I’d probably do a card like this too. I would keep my kid out of the public eye and in a protective bubble as long as possible. As a mom, I would go absolutely psychotic on anybody who picked on my child. No matter how beautiful Meghan is, any progeny that is half Harry doesn’t have much hope in the looks department. Maybe her genes will overcome.

I love this card - warm, whimsical, and full of Christmas cheer. Plus, you just know Harry gets in there and plays with Archie, and that makes me smile.
