She really has the weirdest booking situation going on. She just played a truck stop parking lot in the middle of nowhere. There's no rhyme or reason to her scheduling either. It's all over the country, not consolidated to make it more fluid geographically, economically. I'm thinking a casino is actually a step up for her at this point. Her career needs major help.

I don't think that the mainstream is familiar with "everything else." I think that there are things that LeAnn can do that may kick her career up a few notches in the short-term but overall I think that she is experiencing the lifecycle of most female singers who did not reach superstar status a la Madonna and Beyonce, which is you peak and then fade, and post-peak you're lucky if casinos and orchestras will book you.

With the casino gigs not selling out and after expenses her take home can't be more than $4,000, after taxes (in her tax bracket) that leaves about $2,500. LeAnn's not playing more than two gigs a month (that she actually shows up for) so that's $5,000 per month. Royalties are close to non-existent thanks to piracy and itunes, her publishing and licensing has come to a halt, so that leaves hardly any money in their bank accounts. With her expenses, unless LeAnn has some fabulous investments that is, bitch is broke.

Also Dougie, LeAnn was at superstar status. With her talent and career achievements there is not a reason in the world that she shouldn't be far beyond where she's at currently... Except that she has alienated her fans, labels, industry vets, etc. to the point that no one wants to deal with her. LeAnn's career fail is not the natural progression of a female singer of her caliber beyond her prime, her career fail is all of her own making.

How do you figure leann was ever at superstar levels? She was never mainstream except one cross over hit. Country did not have anywhere near the levels of popularity it has now and that was her main stage.

She was a pretty big star back in the day, even if she was more a circus act as a singing toddler. But back then she was huge even here, where country music generally isn't.

^^Is that Branson, Missouri? My husband family are from that area - near Branson. I've been there - its COUNTRY. Michael Brady from the Brady Bunch is one of their headliners at the Branson Theatre, 70's Music Celebration Starring Barry Williams.
Wewe could carve out a nice following in Branson. It is a huge tourist attraction. Lots of old country fans go there for shows.

So you're saying that LeAnn Rimes lives in a gated community in Hidden Hills, California, buys / leases luxury cars, purchased $200,000 motor home, wears the latest designer clothes all on $60,000 a year plus interest income from the wealth she accumulated before she was 20? I would throw in multiple vacations but I think that her cut of pap pictures covers those costs.

I don't think that all of her shows sell out, but there have been articles about her selling out venues. Off the top of my head I remember the upstate New York show she played and the West Virginia show she cancelled were sold out/nearly sold out. Two Christmases ago someone had a Twitter conversation with some guy who was over an orchestra that LeAnn performed with, those shows did not sell out but he said that their targets were met and he was pleased, so I don't think it's even necessary to fill every seat in order to consider a performance a financial success. Furthermore, although not a hard and fast rule, my understanding is that casinos pay their performers a fee and they get that fee whether the house is packed or ten people attend. To me if she was not pulling in the right numbers then she would not still be getting booked and according to her website she has 19 bookings, not all casinos, between now and the end of the year, which does average out to more than 2 shows a month. I may be misremembering this but I think that she said that she will "tour" for each of her three Christmas EPs, so there may be a cheesy video in our future announcing additional venues.

I have a different definition of superstar, to me embedded in that label is enduring/sustainable which is why I used Madonna and Beyonce as examples.

I stated that there are things that LeAnn can do that will benefit her career, but I don't think that she will be "far beyond" where she is now on a sustainable basis. Yeah the stars may align for her and she can stage a comeback whether it is through a hit song or participating in (not headlining) a big tour, but she's not going to be producing a string of platinum albums or fronting arena tours. This ain't a LeAnn thing, the same thing can be said about most other female singers who peaked in the 1990s/early 2000s.

Speculation/predictions that Leann is broke/going broke, as well as LeAnn having a massive mental breakdown, Eddie cheating on her, Eddie leaving her have been legion since 2010. I certainly don't consider any of those things outside the realm of possibility but I'm at the point now where I'll believe that the bitch is broke and all the other stuff when it actually happens.

Exactly. LeAnn's sold close to 40 million albums worldwide, some of her crossover hits were, "Blue", "We Can", "Can't Fight the Moonlight", "How Do I Live" and there was something from the Coyote Ugly soundtrack I can't remember right now, those songs don't even include her country hits.
Back in the day LeAnn was like a country version of Celine Dion and even outsold her in the singles department (minus "My Heart Will Go On") so it's pretty shocking that she's fallen as far as she has, especially considering she gets zero respect from anyone in the industry... And that makes a comeback highly unlikely.

A comeback of any sort would require two things of LeAnn - humility and a strong work ethic.

I believe E is cheating.I'm sure she made some money from selling a previous home, E came into this with some cash too. Not sure if she owns the RV or leases it, but I would think that right now they're probably spending more than they're earning.
They can probably do this for a while before they go broke.

My apologies guys for the double post.

Yes. Plus a few dollars in royalties, very few.

I don't think that all of her shows sell out, but there have been articles about her selling out venues. Off the top of my head I remember the upstate New York show she played and the West Virginia show she cancelled were sold out/nearly sold out. I've worked in the music industry almost two decades, I live in a casino town and have played casinos myself. I know what I'm talking about with this particular matter, the bitch is pulling close to no cash "touring" i.e. playing a few gigs per year.

I have a different definition of superstar, to me embedded in that label is enduring/sustainable which is why I used Madonna and Beyonce as examples.

    See my following post.

I stated that there are things that LeAnn can do that will benefit her career, but I don't think that she will be "far beyond" where she is now on a sustainable basis.

    Agreed.

Yeah the stars may align for her and she can stage a comeback whether it is through a hit song or participating in (not headlining) a big tour, but she's not going to be producing a string of platinum albums or fronting arena tours.

Highly unlikely, the industry hates her, she's basically black-balled.

Unless she has some really great investments that brings her piles of cash, which is possible, she is basically broke and living on credit. Believe what you will it is impossible to make a bangin' living in music these days unless you are touring constantly and successfully.

now does she pay the daily mail or do they pay her for pap photos and stories?

she probably gets some side cash endorsing stuff on twitter.

i agree with the fact that you have to make your money touring. she's not making much money off that at all. i mean compared to her lifestyle.

i wonder if she gets money from her dad. you know the money he 'fleeced' off her when she sued him. maybe he invested it. i can't see her investing. she was kind of rebellious in her late teens and fought to break away from her dadager. then she spent so much money on her boyfriends buying them cars and crap, you can tell she's a compulsive spender. although i have to say she does do okay with clothing, it's not like we havent seen her penis boots less than 10x over the past three or four years. she recycles her clothes haha.
