They tried to collar me and an ex once at a car boot sale of all places. Although there wasn't anything signage wise to say they were clams the "Free Personality Test" notices and e-meter sat atop the folding table gave them away and I gave them the finger and carried on walking.

I'm finding Leah Remini incredibly hot all over again:

Leah Remini Breaks Silence On Scientology Defection:
Leah Remini Breaks Silence On Scientology Defection: ‘I’m Not About To Shut Up’

King of Queens star Leah Remini has broken her silence on her defection from Scientology, issuing her most direct words about her decision to dump the church after more than 30 years and vowing that she will not “shut up.”

Remini and her entire family have left Scientology after a bizarre series of events that unfolded during at least the past seven years, with A-list stars writing “knowledge reports” about her. Leah’s persistent questions about the whereabouts of church head David Miscavige’s wife created controversy.

“We stand united, my family and I, and I think that says a lot about who we are, and what we’re about,” Remini told People magazine on Saturday at the 15th annual DesignCare event in Malibu, California.
Leah’s mother was advanced in the church’s teachings but the entire family is supporting the actress, including older sister Nicole who has spoken out and revealed jaw-dropping details about events involving Scientologists.
After former Village Voice editor Tony Ortega broke the story that Leah was leaving Scientology, Nicole gave interviews saying that her sister questioned Miscavige in 2006 at Tom Cruise and Katy Holmes’ wedding about the whereabouts of his wife Shelly, who was not at the event.

Shelly Miscaviage has been seen in public approximately once in the past seven years, and although the church says she is fine, Leah questioned why she was not seen and why she was not in contact with anybody.
That started a chain of events that appeared to be reprisals against the actress. But on Saturday, Leah let everyone know that the church was not going to silence her.
“I believe that people should be able to question things,” Leah said. “I believe that people should value family, and value friendships, and hold those things sacrosanct.

On one hand, I am sorry she stayed with those lunatics so long but I admire her strength.

Which Celebrity Was Leah Remini Defending When She Left Scientology?

By Suzy Byrne | omg! – 2 hours 54 minutes ago

Paul Haggis (Rob Kim/Getty Images)Leah Remini's split from Scientology has been a difficult one, but she has at least one big supporter in her corner.
[Related: Leah Remini Leaves Church of Scientology Over Growing Discontent]
Director and screenwriter Paul Haggis, who is known for films like "Crash" and "Million Dollar Baby," has come to the former "King of Queens" star's defense in a public way, penning a letter of support in The Hollywood Reporter. The 60-year-old went through a similar situation when he parted ways with the church in 2009, and gives insight into what Remini is going through.

Noting that Remini, 43, was one of only two Scientologist friends who didn't "disconnect" from him when he loudly left the organization, he said they remained friendly ― though not close friends ― which didn't go unnoticed by key members of the church.
"Leah got in trouble because of me, because when I was 'declared' a 'Suppressive Person' and shunned, she came to my defense ― without me ever knowing it," Haggis wrote. "She had shouting matches with Tommy Davis, then the church spokesman, who had come to try and keep her quiet. The fact that she fought within the system so resolutely for so long, never making her feelings public, is a testament to how much she believed in the basic goodness of her friends and the institution."
[Related: Leah Remini on Leaving Scientology: ‘I’m Not About to Shut Up’]
Haggis also addressed the reason why Remini's relationship with the church first started to unravel: as previously reported, because she questioned leader David Miscavige about the whereabouts of his wife, Shelly, who hasn't been seen in public since 2007. The incident is said to have taken place at Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes's Italian wedding in 2006. Calling it news to him that Remini had "run afoul of the church by challenging ... David Miscavige, who is held to be infallible," Haggis said he had found himself in a similar situation.
"When I was leaving and was visited by waves of angry friends and a phalange of top Scientology executives, trying to convince me to ... resign quietly, I made a similar mistake by insisting they look into the charges of abuse detailed by the Tampa Bay Times," Haggis wrote referring to this special report. "I was working on a film about Martin Luther King Jr. at that moment and made the polite suggestion that even great leaders like Dr. King were human and fallible. Two of the senior church leaders leapt to their feet and shouted at me, 'How dare you compare a great man like David Miscavige to Martin Luther King!' I ended the meeting at that point, thanking them for coming."

Haggis went on to commend Remini for trying to get to the bottom of her "longtime friend" Shelly's whereabouts, saying, "Unlike her pious friends, Leah refused to accept the easy excuses that were offered. She kept asking questions." (A lawyer for Shelly told Us Weekly in 2012 that she was "not missing" and any reports indicating she was were "false.")
He also noted that Remini's decision to leave Scientology was brave, because her roots in it were deep. She joined the church at the age of 9 with her mother, Vicki Marshall, who became a high-ranking member. Remini's husband, Angelo Pagan, also took Scientology courses. The actress's sister, Nicole Remini-Wiskow, left in 2005, and has spoken out on her behalf since Remini's recent split made headlines.
"I can’t express how much I admire Leah. Her parents, family and close friends were almost all Scientologists; the stakes for her were so much higher than for me," he wrote.
Haggis concluded by sharing a conversation he had with Remini after he heard the news she had severed ties with the church in early July.
"It was good to hear her voice and great to hear her laugh ― though it was easy to tell she had been terribly hurt and shaken by the events of the last weeks. That said, Leah is an incredibly strong woman and will get through this with the help of her family and her true friends. She is kind and generous and loyal; she has always cared more about others than herself. She barely knew me, and yet she fought for me and my family, a battle she had to know in her gut she was never going to win. That takes an enormous amount of integrity and compassion. I will leave it to you to decide if the same can be said of Scientology’s executives and Leah’s many former friends ― especially those Scientologists who are watching her be smeared now and are choosing to stay silent."
When reached for comment, a spokesperson for the church told omg! that Haggis is a "status-obsessed screenwriter" who "has chosen to align himself with a small posse of lunatics with arrest records" and "is exploiting his tenuous connection with Scientology to grab headlines."
"Despite his spin, the truth is that Mr. Haggis was an inactive Scientologist for more than 30 years until he orchestrated a disingenuous 'departure' in 2009 aimed solely at getting media attention," the statement continued. "As a result, Paul Haggis has no first-hand knowledge about the Church of Scientology."
Read the statement in its entirety here.

^^ I was just coming to post an article from TV Guide about the Paul Haggis support. I am cheering for these guys. It would be nice if there would be more people who could get out.

Default Actress Leah Remini to write tell-all book after defecting Scientology

The tv star is working on a memoir covering "all that is taboo" about the religion.

The lid is about to be lifted once again on the controversial Church of Scientology. Actress Leah Remini, who defected the religion earlier this month, is set to write a tell-all book on her experience as a worshipper at the church in the last 37 years.

Remini is now 'disconnected' from existing members of the church including Will Smith and Tom Cruise, much like fellow famous defectorsNicole Kidman and Katie Holmes and all others who have left the religion.

"It will include my experiences, everything that's taboo to talk about," Leah told Us Weekly. It is believed that she decided to leave after she was allegedly punished for questioning leader David Miscavige, and for being critical of other Scientologists.

Since her decision, she has come under fire by current worshipper Kirstie Alley, who posted a series of bizarre tweets reportedly directed at the former King of Queens star, a former friend.

"We stand united, my family and I, and I think that says a lot about who we are, and what we're about," Remini explained on her decision to leave the church, which she joined, along with her mother, when they first moved to Los Angeles.

"i believe that people should be able to question things," she explained.

Remini is not the only Hollywood heavyweight to experience the wrath of the church. Director Paul Haggis, also a former Scientologist, penned an open letter to The Hollywood Reporter praising her decision to leave.

"What I knew about Leah is that she was one of two Scientologists who had refused to 'disconnect' from me and certainly the only high-profile one when I decided to quit the organization in August 2009," he began. "Leah and I were always friendly but never close friends.

"Despite this, she called me as soon as she heard about my letter of resignation. Unlike the rest of my former friends, she expressed real sadness that I was leaving and concern for me and my family."

"Having witnessed Scientology’s smear tactics, I can imagine how this was being orchestrated, but I was still shocked to see how quickly those friends -- some of whom had known Leah for 20 or 30 years -- jumped on the 'malign Leah' campaign, and with such apparent glee," he added.

"I assumed Scientology’s next step would be to try and plant disparaging stories about her with less-informed journalists and bloggers.

"And if others who have made noisy exits from the church are to be believed, Scientology would also use their Office of Special Affairs employees to attack Leah indirectly, posting negative comments about her shows and career and abilities under myriad false names, pretending to be disappointed fans or whatever. None of that is new."
