Dontchoo be getting coy with me, mister! JK - I just think the American public would rather have a white man (illiterate drunk warmonger) than a white woman or a black man...

I'm part of the American public and I don't think it should be based on race or gender.

I'd much rather have someone who wasn't a cokehead back in the day and lying to the public left and right, can't put a sentence together, with a vice pres who shoots people in the face. Nawmean?

"I try to go for longer runs, but it's tough around here at the White House on the outdoor track. It's sad that I can't run longer. It's one of the saddest things about the presidency." — President George W. Bush, interview with "Runners World," Aug. 2002

"Do you have blacks, too?" —Pres. George W. Bush to Brazilian President Fernando Cardoso, Washington, D.C., Nov. 8, 2001

Unfortunately, I do agree with you Mel, though I wish it wasn't true. I have to remind myself on a daily basis that much of the country is still racist, bigoted, homophobic, gender-biased, etc. As much as I hate to admit it, it is true.

It is sad, sadder all the time because you see so many that have changed - just not enough. Not enough to get a woman or a black man in the white house. I know it isn't right and it isn't what it should be about. People will pay lip-service to what they know it should be about but many times, that isn't how they vote. Of course, I also believe that our government should have to live on the same social security programs that the rest of us do... but guess who votes on that shit!

I am leaving in about a half hour to drive from DC to a cabin a friend of mine has in the hills of West Virginia. Another friend who is coming with said "are you going to take your equal rights sticker off your car (a simple = sign that represents equal rights for gays, lesbians, etc.)? While not as obvious (and tired) as the rainbow sticker, there is always the thought that driving outside of urban areas with any type of gay representation on your car can be dangerous. But I don't hide my sexuality or conform, so the sticker stays.

Who knows, maybe it will get me a date with a West Virginia mountain man....

I wonder if the day will ever come when America has a president of Asian or Middle eastern heritage? A woman or black person just shouts tokenism to me.
It sounds like a heirachy of women 1st, blacks 2nd, and everybody else last.
Same here in Australia unfortunately.

I agree with you, Mel. As much as people like to believe that America is one gigantic melting pot where everyone is treated equally, it's still hard to imagine Middle America voting for a woman or minority to be President.

Just the things they bring up about Hillary & Obama prove that point. Hillary is too cold and Obama's name sounds too much like Osama. Crap like that is just used for distracting from the fact that some people don't like the idea of a woman or minority holding the highest position in the land. But those same people don't mind a cokehead, drunken retarded moron in the same position because he's a white male. Go figure.

Let's see, her appearance and weight have already been attacked, now she's a lesbian and tomorrow she's going to be a slut. I bet the limp dicked republicans are trying to hunt down her ex boyfriends to see if any of them did her in the ass. What a bunch of predictable losers! HC is a 60 year old woman who spends all her time campaigning, I doubt she has an exciting sex life.

Crackho,

Perhaps your friend thought "West Virginia is for Brotherfuckers" bumper sticker would be more appropriate? LOL.

Gotta love "them west virginians!"

Interesting that now that the race is heating up you start to hear the dirt.

What Hilary should really be worried about are her supporters
crying because Tim Russert asked hard questions. They are making her look weak and i wish they would shut up!

We haven't heard anything about Obama. Not that I'm pojnting fingers. It's jsut a kind of suspicious coincidence.

First off, I'd smack that friend.

Secondly, 99% of the tards outside said urban area would have no idea wtf that symbol means.. (funny enough, I didn't for the longest time. I thought it was some sort of electricity ad or something)
