I honestly think would be awesome as the President. She'd be a great candidate for women's rights, that's for sure!

Our country could do worse than Bill Clinton running it. Anybody remember the 90s? Things were much better than they are today.
However, HC wears the pants in the family and she was a strong force behind his presidency. If the Repubs would have left them alone, they could have done so much more for our country. I don't have a problem with him being a strong force behind hers, but she doesn't need him except to wow the crowds etc. People like him better than they like her. But don't kid yourself, she is an incredibly intelligent woman and would make a helluva president.

Hopefully, Hilary would appoint Bill to a cabinet position dealing with foreign affairs. That was really his strong point, I think. We've pissed off the Middle East so much we really need someone to smooth things over.

I love the idea of a fat black lesbian woman kicking the ass of the Repugs - hell, the Dems too - so far no one else has been willing and able to do it. Of course, Oprah is at the top of the heap of the power elite so that makes her one of them. She ain't up to the job in any event.

Hillary said that if she got elected she would have Bill act as an ambassador, or some other high level position, to help smooth over relations with other countries.

You're going to need somebody with that knowledge to fix the mess that Bush created.
I think Obama has some of what it takes to be a President, but not just yet. He's still a little green. He'd be better off as Vice-President for a while, and then once he's got some more political experience under his belt then he can take on the Oval Office.

I'm with you. It's a cut-throat arena......they would swallow Obama. Hillary's already been in the fire (and you can already see the Republicans coming after her with this lesbian scandal.....they're gonna do whatever it takes to hurt her). Edwards talks about "unions" and issues that make Corporate America cringe, and that's where the $$ is.
Jeffrey Toobin (sp?) recently got his book published on the Supreme Justices. He was saying that Hillary would probably nominate Obama for Supreme Justice (as three of them will be exiting in the future). Makes a lot of sense, Obama is well-versed in the law and he could be sitting in a pretigious position like that for the next 30 years. Just something to consider....

boooooooo! I just talked to a friend in DC and he says it's not true. There goes my gossip fix. But that means things are better for Hillary in the election, so yayyyy that.

I have my own personal reasons why I do not want Hillary Clinton to be President, none of which have anything to do with her being female. That being said, I remember telling one of my girlfriends this, and she was aghast. She basically gave me the whole speech about how women should stick together. I was pissed. I told her that the whole womens liberation movement was about being able to make your own choices, and how dumb would I be if I just voted for a woman simply because she's a woman? I feel some pressure nowadays from women to be like-minded so we can get a female in the White House. I sure wouldn't mind one myself, but I'm not going to be swayed in my decision making process by whether my candidate has a vagina or not.

The UK's Margaret Thatcher was/is a superbitch and plenty of people hated her - but she was a kick ass Prime Minister. Seems to me that being 'nice' isn't on the job description.

Thatcher did her best to destroy the working man in the U.K. I just can't admire someone who has that as their legacy.

Disagree. Yes she ruthlessly brought the trades unions into line (they were totally out of control) but the country prospered under her leadership, including the 'working man' who for the first time had the means and opportunity to buy his own home due to higher wages and lower taxes.

Well, I know quite a few journalists who went bankrupt and lost their homes and their jobs thanks to Maggie. And the north was devastated. I guess it's a matter of perspective. Just like the Republicans -- if you are on the winning side, then of course, your support these kinds of measures. If you are one of the losers, then your lives are devastated.
