The Australian media ruined her for me. 'Brave Cancer Survivor Kylie Minogue', 'Our Kylie who battled cancer'. Blah

Like she was the only woman in the world to have ever had cancer, or come from Australia.

And this album is apparently not one of her best efforts anyway.

I've got friends going through that and I admire any person who comes out on the other side of cancer...... it's a hard road.

I thought she was cute and all that, she has no history here so no judging done just I didn't like the song and felt if that was the best she could do then she wouldn't even make it on American Idol. But the dozen or so back up dancers were good.. and distracting

Americans don't go for campy Europop. Kylie's style of music is not popular here (I think she's been a flop in Canada, too.)

I'm not going to shed a tear for her. I think she's crap as an artist. She's been in the industry for 20 years, and hasn't grown as an artist a bit. She still has the same weak, squeeky voice. She's still recording the same mindless, forettable dance tracks.

And her new album must be REALLY bad if the best 2 songs off it were 2 Hearts and Wow (this song is just awful.)

The one song of hers I do love is that duet she did with Nick Cave:

But I agree, her music otherwise lacks substance.

PerezHilton posted her latest flop but in an acoustic version and it's SUPER! I'm not a Kylie fan, and I never realized her voice was so high pitched, but w/ this version, it works. Check this out--you won't be sorry!

aella, i love 'where the wild roses grow'!
and i agree, her solo stuff sucks. that song is great but all she did is sing on it. the song is 100% nick. she couldn't write something 1/10th as good no matter how hard she tried.

Er, don't format the url as a link, for one thing.

Just post post the URL address inside the Youtube tags.

Sorry the only thing I associate her with is "the cancer", maybe she should spend more time promoting the music and more time training her voice then photo ops.

Her career isn't dependent on her vocal skills. She's like the Australian version of Madonna. It's about the show, etc.

That said, even by Kylie's campy Europop standards, her last album was crap.

^^ You make a good point. I have never been a Kylie or Madonna fan.

I know quite a few people that have been to Kylie concerts and they say she puts on an amazing show.

The showed one of her more recent concerts on TV here a few months ago. Can't remember which 'theme' - showgirl or something like that? Anyway, the overall production, costumes, dancers, lighting, etc etc were all superb but if you turned away and just listened to the singing and the songs it was pretty lame, bland and boring. She's relied on her looks and her great ass so far so she's been able to get away with a weak voice without any depth or range. Now the looks and ass are beginning to fade it highlights the fact that she's a weak singer. Like I say, hang up your gold lame hotpants Kyles and walk away with some dignity.
