ditto. I notice when I'm missing change. If I had that much money, I'd be very paranoid about just putting my trust in someone else. I know she can't be expected to keep track of every dime, but she sounds like she was an easy mark.

oh please. kurt was very talented... frankly, on behalf of the rest of Nirvana, I'd like to say "Suck on that Courtney". Look at the guys who remain of Nirvana, they've done fairly well - because there was always talent there. The music may not appeal to you but it DID appeal to millions of people and brought grunge (maybe not such a good thing) to the forefront.

Love still owns about 73% of the publishing rights to Nirvana's music however it does not sell like it used to so she doesn't make tons of cash on it - the Jonas brothers actually make more on their shit bubblegum music. But I don't think she is hurting for cash or near broke. She only sold 25% of the catalogue to one of Virgin Records labels execs for about $50 million a few years ago so now they get a cut of any remastered or remixed Nirvana releases, as does she and (the weird part IMO) Grohl and Novoselic who get less than the record company. She may come off as a ditz and can be when wasted but that's also part of her public shtick. I think she is going after people using Kurt's name to acquire real estate and goods and then turn them out at a profit without giving her a cut. I wouldn't be surprised if the number is actually much more than $30 million.

I also think if she hadn't spent so many of these years in a drug addled haze that might have helped her hold onto some money. Plus, there's no telling how much she's spent on drugs (and trying to quit them) alone. Maybe it's karma come this lifetime for being a money grubber and having her hubby rubbed out before he could divorce her.

lol you want shitty and overrated? how about everything on the charts right now. beyonce, mariah carey, coldplay, all the little emo shits, rihanna, etc, etc...
it might not be to your liking, but there is no way cobain was untalented. raw, not mainstream and not a classically good singing voice, maybe, but that's not the same as untalented. as for the length of his career, think about it, a lot of influential musicians have had very short careers and still left a mark: nick drake, the sex pistols, tim buckley, etc...

He's really popular in the UK (as are the Foo Fighters) & there was big 20 yr anniversary thing at the weekend for Nivarna (on national radio I think - more royalties...). I think that they're still popular in Europe too, but wouldn't swear to it.

AMEN, Sputnik. I still get chills everytime I hear Heart Shaped Box. Grew up in the grunge scene and now am so glad I was here at a time their was so much talent and REAL musicians around. It seemed like every night, whether in clubs or living rooms or parks, amazing things were happening and we lived the music through all the rifts and riffs, some perceived and most created by outside media. Still have a "Cock Rock Rules" t-shirt from the PJ-Nirvana pissing match that ended with Eddie and Kurt slow-dancing with each other to Clapton's "Tears In Heaven". Audioslave, Alice in Chains, Pixies, Sonic Youth, Mudhoney, etc. Ah youth is wasted on the young.
