I think any carefully, or somewhat carefully, orchestrated PR campaign makes sure that they have the cooperation of all people involved. Otherwise, it could blow up in your face or go in a direction that would be counterproductive to what you are trying to achieve.

I don't think they would have to set up stunts like this to drum up publicity or get fans to buy tickets. Their fans are already suicidal over them. The wife setting this up seems more plausible only because it makes them look bad (as it should). I don't think Stewart would want to look like a home-wrecker. Doesn't make much sense.

It doesn't make sense to me, either. Why wouldn't Kristen and Pattinson just break up? Why would they need an explanation other than they broke up? And a married man with kids? That doesn't seem like a good PR move, but a move that will require a lot of good PR.

Here's how the fake relationship drama will play out then: They will let there be some gossip for awhile and then they'll "get back together" and he'll talk about how much he loves her and forgives her. Or, that they were having problems and were officially "on a break" when she snared Mr. married in her squishmitten, so he doesn't blame her. There is that little thing about her looking like a whore for fucking a married dude, but that's acceptable and even cool with the cool kids, so no biggie.

Or maybe they'll just go with the script where he despises her with the burning hate of 1000 suns and they're forced to attend the premiere together where all eyes (even people like us, who don't really buy there's a relationship) will be on them trying to pretend they don't (fake)hate each other. All while her facial expression stays the same.
