I didn't realize that Taylor story came from Jezebel at first since I only saw the Associated Press link at the bottom and thought, "Geez, even the AP has an opinion of Taylor as a person..." Jezebel's journalistic standards are a little sub par anyway:

Why do states like Louisiana keep allowing people to rebuild in flood-prone areas? And why aren't people living in flood-prone areas required to buy health insurance? Or are they required to?
Same reason anyone rebuilds in a disaster-prone area: it's their home and they either can't imagine living elsewhere and/or don't have the $ to do so.
