Not one word from White Oprah this whole time? Something is definitely going on with that. Honoring the MiLo restraining order since he's been smugging all up in it?

I did some googling and I think they just couldn't prove anything, and Elle publicly said she wasn't a suspect. What else could they say? Dumbasses didn't even notice the jewelry was missing for 2 days (unbelievable!) and by then Lohan was long gone. Apparently she wasn't stupid enough to wear that stuff in public.

Here's an old NY Post article about it. Apparently that missing mink coat was returned though. Guess she thought if she returned the $2500 necklace, it would just go away too.

    LINDSAY'S CLING TO THE BLING
'GEM-STONED' STAR SOUGHT TO KEEP MISSING BAUBLES

By LACHLAN CARTWRIGHT and CHUCK BENNETT
    Last Updated: 9:02 AM, June 17, 2009

Decked out in borrowed designer diamonds during a London fashion shoot, a loopy-acting Lindsay Lohan had just one question between camera flashes: Can I take home the bling?

Lohan repeatedly pestered Elle UK staffers, asking throughout a recent cover shoot if the Dior necklace and earrings, worth a staggering $400,000, were hers to keep, police sources at Scotland Yard told The Post.

Those precious baubles are now missing and the subject of a British investigation.

The troubled 23-year-old star was repeatedly told that Dior -- which lent the jewels to Elle UK so the high-end jeweler could get top billing in the September cover issue -- expected them returned, a Scotland Yard source said.

"Lindsay kept telling stylists how much she liked the jewelry and asked if she could keep it," said a source close to the investigation. "Even when they explained Dior wanted it back, Lindsay continued to ask [to keep it]."

Although models often get to keep clothes and accessories, Lohan's repeated entreaties -- coupled with her history of alleged pilfering -- was noted by many at the June 6 shoot at London's Big Sky Studios.

Two days later, Elle UK staffers noticed the bling had vanished and called the cops.

During the shoot, another source said, the actress seemed to be living up to her hard-partying reputation.

Fashion assistants said she appeared to be "off her head on drugs" and "acting erratically," the source told The Post.

Team Lohan vehemently denied she had anything to do with the gems' disappearance.

"It is obvious it was not Lindsay. It was an inside job," said her mom, Dina Lohan. "She said she would do anything to help the investigation."

Scotland Yard has yet to question Lohan, who was on Long Island yesterday celebrating brother Dakota's 13th birthday.

Later in the day, she and her kid bro drew a small crowd as they shopped at Lower East Side hipster boutique Blue & Cream.

"It's so creepy," she mumbled at the gawkers.

Not that she's against being looked at: The "Mean Girls" star posted a topless Twitter pic Sunday, tweeting: "I'm THAT bored."

She also posted a thank-you to Elle magazine, which said in a statement it had "no reason to believe" Lohan was responsible for the missing bling.

Still, the incident recalls another allegedly larcenous Lohan incident.
Last year, a Manhattan model accused the star of swiping her prized mink jacket after the two crossed paths at the Chelsea club 1Oak.

Maria "Masha" Markova said she saw Lohan sporting her $11,000 jacket around town after it was stolen.

Her lawyer called Lohan's handlers, and the coat was mysteriously returned.
Markova, a model and Columbia College student, filed a civil lawsuit anyway against the "oppressive and malicious" star, demanding punitive damages.

The case was recently settled for an undisclosed sum -- and with the stipulation that Markova's camp states there was "no implication of guilt."

No, she'll post bail and wait for her trial. The only way she will go to jail any time soon is if she has a probation revocation hearing, and then she just might be in jail until her theft trial rolls around.

I was hoping they'd live stream it. I'll be watching!

I wonder if White Oprah is going with her? I guess Lois Lane is out of the question now, lol.

Why There’s No Way Lindsay Lohan Will Play Lois Lane

    Feb. 8 2011 - 10:53 pm
    By DOROTHY POMERANT
There are rumors today that Lindsay Lohan is in the “talking phase” to play Lois Lane in the upcoming Superman movie from Warner Bros. studio. Gossip maven Ted Casablanca says that according to Lohan’s “people” they are in talks to cast her in a “major role” but they are “playing coy as to what role, exactly, that might be.”
I feel pretty confident saying that Lohan will not ultimately be cast as Lois Lane. Let’s put aside for a moment the fact that Lohan is apparently about to be charged with stealing a $2,500 necklace from a jewelry store.
Lohan has a history of not showing up on set and drug and alcohol problems. Lately she’s been dropped from or dropped out of more movies than she’s appeared in including a movie about porn star Linda Lovelace that for a short time was being billed as her comeback. She was replaced by the less showy but reliable Malin Akerman.
The truth is that studios don’t care about how much an actress promises that she has turned herself around. Once a star has sunk as low as Lohan, she becomes uninsurable. No one wants to take that kind of financial gamble, especially on a big budget superhero movie.
If Lohan is really going to make a comeback, she needs not only to prove in public that she is sober and responsible but she needs to prove that she’ll show up every day on set with her lines learned and her marks memorized. To do that, she’ll need to act for almost no money in small movies and work her way up to the Supermans of the world.
Just look at Robert Downey, Jr. — one of the greatest Hollywood comebacks of all time. He wasn’t cast in Iron Man right out of rehab. Instead he proved himself in smaller films like Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Good Night and Good Luck. Now he’s one of the richest actors in Hollywood. Last year he earned $22 million and ranked 73rd on our Celebrity 100 list. Lohan has a long way to go before she gets there.

I can't believe anyone was considering her for any part. The author is right though, if she wants to work again after all this, she'd have to do it for nothing. Maybe even then, she'd still have a difficult time finding a job.

From a legal standpoint it is pushing the line to file based on incidents in which no charges were ever filed and no convictions came forth. This makes it look like someone is out to get her. Can this current case not stand on its own merit, that they have to base their decision on past events that were never prosecuted?

Our justice system only works on the premise innocent until proven guilty.

This is simply about bringing the charges. At her trial she can address all of this. Or if she's smart she'll just plead guilty and save the tax payers some money for once.

If she's smart she will plead the charges down to a misdemeanor and get more probation. However, that could also backfire because pleading could would almost certainly violate her current probation.

Yes that sounded sketchy to me too. How would they even introduce that? Elle issued a statement saying they didn't believe she stole anything. I suppose they could have the fur coat owner testify as to what happened, but there were no charges from that either.

And she has a track record of finding trouble when she's on probation. She should plead guilty. Do some time and be free of the system. Giving her probation is like pulling our nails slowly, one at a time.

"Her people" = Dina Lohan. Please. She was never even considered to be an extra in this film. They just release these quotes thinking that if they start saying it, it may gain traction and she might actually be considered. Whatevs!

I recently caught parts of Machete and where her role was to play a titty girl in a pool that kisses all over Machete. That's it. Her sole role was to walk up and down the length of a pool hanging over this dude and another chick topless kissing/softcore porn. Wow. How much she has fallen...
