Spacey is a psycho. He didn't get this guy fired, though.

We aren't bashing gays, we are bashing Spacey for being ashamed of being gay.

I have read somewhere a long time ago that Kevin Spacey was a total bastard. I want to say it was on the "A List" website, but I could be mistaken. Regardless, this doesn't surprise me at all.

Exactly, the majority of the blame should be put on this spineless, typical celebrity awestruck piece of shyte manager.
Not only did he brush aside the repeated violations of spacey, he has the nerve to side with him over his own damned employee.
Fawking ridiculous.

Spacey may not have actually demanded that the guy be fired, but he is definately indirectly responsible by acting like a self entitled asshole that is above the law with regards to smoking.

cottaging means you go to a cabin by a lake, otherwise known as a cottage. it's a summer thing, but you can go in the winter.
it's to enjoy the outdoors, and get away from it all.
does it have some other meaning?

Yup. Here's a wiki link to what it means to Brits.

The manager escalated it by not acting properly when the waiter first asked spacey not to smoke. When spacey repeatedly smoked, the manager should have intervened on behalf of the waiter. He clearly did not. He in fact ignored the law and his own employee just so he can suck up to a famous person just like any other pathetic awestruck civilian.
Yes I understand spacey started this, but the manager could have immediately nipped this in the bud, not so much as to back his employee but to comply with the law.

Oh I agree - the manager was a star-whipped, kow-towing idiot who never should have fired the waiter, so 90% of the blame definately lies with him, but I can't help but feel that Spacey deserves some of the blame too.
