Why does he define her sense of humour by her gender?
Men love to say women aren't funny so that comment is an insult.
(I can't believe this asshole made me defend Garner)
Do we know Garner's actual gender, though? (I'm throwing this out there because Bambi isn't here to say it.)
"Girly" isn't about all women, it's a certain type of woman. I hate dudebro humour, which denotes a retain type of man but by no means does it refer to all men. Saying that "girly humour" is sexist is the same as saying I'm being sexist if I hate chick lit, which would only be sexist if chick lit referred to all literature written by women except we know it doesn't, of refers to a very specific category of literature written by women.

^^Like 50 shades and Twilight? I don't get it either.
RELIGION: Treat it like it's your genitalia. Don't show it off in public, and don't shove it down your children's throats.
"Girly" is often used in language to demean someone because they are acting too "feminine". Such as "run like a girl" or "scream like a girl". It can been seen as putting down all women.
Kevin Smith just sounds like sour grapes to me. Maybe Ben had moved beyond their friendship. Maybe he loved his wife and didn't like it when his friend was a jerk to her. People move on, get over it.
A number of women will describe themselves as a "girly girl" and it doesn't seem like they are intending to insult themselves. In that usage, it's meant as super feminine - in other words, everything Kevin Smith is not.
I guess this means Mo is going to be humming 'Candy Girl' and smiling to himself for the rest of the day now.![]()

I can see Smith sitting behind a gas-n-sip on a saturday night saying "Bitches, man".
I'm meant to be charming not sincere
I agree with this except for the "I like Kevin Smith" part. I like(d) some of his movies but he seems like a bitter, petty little man who likes to whine and trash talk everyone. Sit down and stfu Kevin. Maybe focus on dusting off what used to be your talent and earning headlines for your writing, instead of bashing everyone who doesn't kiss your ass.
Ehh, Kevin's probably right. Jennifer Garner does strike me as uptight, humorless and controlling. Ben strikes me as not so bright, and easily influenced by his partner (case in point: Bennifer) He probably goes along with whatever she says to avoid confrontations.

and then gets shitfaced, gambles like a degenerate and fucks hookers the minute he can escape her grip.
