    1) It's not Kevin fucking Costners job to clean up this mess, it's BP and the Obama admin who, so far, have been doing absolutely nothing but covering their asses, lying, and letting oil gush. If Costner wants to help, great. I doubt he'll be able to, since BP seems to have become the government somehow.

    2) On that note, when *is* the Obama admin going to get off its ass and actually do something? They seem content to just let the oil gush indefinitely. President Absent strikes again.

Yea. Something needs done, fast! I just cringe at the thought of this leaking for many more weeks or months. Sickening

Kevin Costner Explains His Oil-Spill Cleanup Device to Congress

Fifty days into the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, and with no successful attempts to stop it just yet, Kevin Costner visited Washington on Wednesday to offer up what he called a "partial solution to the tragedy unfolding in the Gulf."

"We are all at fault here. It's just too easy to blame BP," the actor said at a Congressional hearing. "What we need to do now is come together."

Telling the House Energy and Environment Subcommittee he was testifying as a "discouraged U.S. citizen and entrepreneur," Costner, 55, said his business venture, Ocean Therapy Solutions, had developed a machine which could help with the cleanup.

The device, he said, has purifiers that filter oil from water by using centrifugal forces to separate the dirty particles.

Though the actor acknowledged his machine could not alleviate the entire oil spill problem, he said it should be considered for other smaller spills that occur every year and that "there has to be responsible action at this moment."

"What I can provide is a technology that is available immediately, a technology that will allow rigs to resume operation and put people back to work," he said. The star reportedly invested $26 million in the device, according to the The Hill.

Costner is the latest celebrity lending a hand to help with the oil spill. Director James Cameron, an ocean-technology buff, met with scientists and other experts last week in Washington to come up with possible fixes for the leak.

The Avatar and Titanic director also had reportedly contacted BP offering use of his private fleet of deep-dive craft.

Come on! Obama did something. Just yesterday he asked "whose ass to kick." Cut him some effing slack.

My hatred for Obama knows no bounds. My love for Costner is new and rapidly growing. I remain neutral on Cameron.

I agree with Grim and then times that by infinity and you'll know how much this scares/hurts/bothers/pisses me off. I can no longer look at the pictures of the dying animals and the coast line covered in mess - knowing it's just happening and nothing is really getting done. Everyone just seems to be throwing their arms in the air. BP is going to go belly up and leave the states to fend for themselves.

If Kevin Costner or anybody can get this done, then just do it! The delay is insane.
