i don't think he knew he was being recorded and even if he did, i think he gave up the seat because he's a gentleman and not because he just wanted to appear generous.

he looks so paranoid in the video, though.

It's nice, I guess, but there's no reason a man should give up his seat for someone just because she's female. She didn't seem to be elderly, handicapped or heavily pregnant.
